Eat shabu shabu and go to a sushi restaurant where you can't read the menu. Those were my favorite meals in Tokyo.

I've stayed at the Cerulean Tower in Shibuya and the Park Hyatt in Shinjuku. Tokyo is very easy for foreigners however you'll surprised by how many people don't speak English. All stores and restaurants typically have one person who does.
There are pockets of Westerners who hang out if you end up staying a while. Most tend to be in Roppongi but it's not my favorite ward. I prefer Aoyama and Daikanyama (they are a bit edgier). Tokyo is a lot of fun. I need to go back soon. |

Roppongi. Go there.
Been to Tokyo 3 times. Love it. Asian chicks are actually HARD to bag. So you might want to plan on just renting one. |
Avoid martial art confrontations.

Bring a lot of money, it's very expensive.
Get a pass for the rail system for easy travel and avoid going to tourist traps for foreigners. A lot of them are ran by thugs and they'll drug and gank you for all your $$$. |

Most of the time when you go to a bar a waitress seats your party at a table and you order drinks from a server. There really isn't a "bar scene" where people are walking around talking to strangers. Even at traditional long wooden "bars" you're sat at seats and don't really move around. |
