Ever tried miracle berries?

I was reading about them on reddit, and they sound awesome. Supposedly, they (I fruit form or in a capsule that you dissolve on your tongue) contain a chemical that bonds to your taste buds and make sour and bitter foods taste incredibly sweet. They also work with booze from what I hear, so I may have to finally give alcohol a try.

I just bought a bunch of them http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/ab3f/ to try for the hell of it. Anyone ever tried them? I've heard some people say they are amazing and others say they do nothing for them. I'm more excited than I should be.

Seen it on cooking competitions before, but never actually tried it.

Looks interesting, I wouldn't mind trying it

Sounds like ray Lewis' deer antler miracle cure. I wonder what the long term effect on your taste buds is?

My wife tried them on me a few times, but I didn't like it.

I think these are legal in Colorado now.

I've heard it's pretty cool to use on her...if you catch my drift. Wink wink. Nudge. Nowatimsayin? Eh?

Yeah, we tried them a couple years ago. Went out to Italian, and the berries definitely worked. I liked the experience.

Pretty sure it fades after a bit.

Think brushing your teeth then drinking orange juice, except.. in a good way~

What affect did it have on food that wasn't bitter? Is everything sweet?
Would be a good for someone who doesn't eat his veggies. If I could woof down veggies and get filled by them because they taste like dessert I could lose more weight than McDonalds guy.

I've heard people say they use them to get their kids to take medicine and that already sweet foods become over the top sweet.

They are fun for a short bit. Basically sour becomes sweet, and sweet becomes sweeter.

Look at how informative that website it!

Yes, they are called elder berries.

I know elder wands are magical, but the berries, too?

I suppose they wouldn't be called "miracle" berries if they didn't work, but what is the point?
