where to get a car painted the metro area?

I've got an 88 Toyota truck that needs a paint job. Nothing amazing, just something that won't peel off in a couple months (I'm looking at you maaco). Anyone have suggestions? Has to be in the kc metro area.

I have a friend who owns a body/paint shop. PM me if you want details. They recently did a build of a 69Camaro for a guy in Tennessee

Why would you want to paint the Metro area on your car?

Make sure that when you do find a place, that they use FinishMaster paint.

(And yes, MAACO does use FinishMaster but if applied properly it shouldn't peel...ever!)

Chamber Bros. They took care of one of my Camaro's 15 years ago. Still looks great.

Heh, back in the late 1980's I had a friend of mile that bought this old beat up lime green Chevy Caprice 4-door. It was sold for $50 at the police auction. It burned oil, had rust everywhere, no hubcaps, just a giant POS. He camo'ed the car with spray paint, and his car was famous around town, because at the time it was the only camo car in town.

Looked pretty cool, actually. Certainly better than it looked before the camo job.

Anymore it’s not unusual to see a lifted Jeep, Blazer or Bronco with a rattle can camo or tiger/zebra stripe paint job. But back before it was a thing a buddy bought an old ’67 Caddy, similar deal got it for super cheap, that badly needed a paint job so he had a paint party. He bought the beer, paint, some low grit sand paper, and in a day we masked off the chrome/trim, scuffed up the old paint with the sand paper then everyone grabbed a can of high gloss black rattle can and we painted it. Actually turned out looking pretty damn good, as long as you ignored the two flies that got stuck in the wet paint, especially with the dark limo window tint we could get away with back in the ‘80’s. Kinda miss that old POS, just not the gas mileage.

You should put an exhaust fan in the ceiling while you are at it.

You know, for when it gets cold.
