Are you willing to pay for USA products?

I bought a new couch today that is high quality and 100% made in the USA. It's a Stickley, if you know the brand. They pay their workers well with full benefits. I could have bought a similar "looking" couch from Nebraska Furniture Mart for about 1/3 the price, but they sell crap.

There's also a clothing store in the KC area that sells jeans that are 100% USA made. The workers who fabricate the jeans from start to finish are well paid with full benefits. A pair costs $200.

Walmart recently said they're moving back to the Made in the USA when possible. That will be a rough road.

The question is: Do you support workers in the USA, or do you take advantage of cheap Asian labor?

If the jeans are $200, then cheap Asian labor.

If its top quality and competitively priced I'll buy American. I'm not gunna shell out extra cash just for a "Made In USA" stamp.

A lot of people say they will, just like a lot of people say that they despise illegal immigration, but they are perfectly fine reaping the benefits from those systems.

Your voting options are rather extreme for this issue. I would buy American if I could, but seeing that I make about $100 a week (I'm a college student). I will probably have to rely on imported products for the immediate future.

BigMeatballDave 01-26-2013 04:43 PM

No ****ing way am I paying $200 for a pair of jeans.

Saulbadguy 01-26-2013 04:49 PM

I don't care. Why should I?

kcxiv 01-26-2013 04:49 PM

When someone lives paycheck to paycheck and is struggling its hard to ask them to pay for something thats way more expensive! It just dont work like that and it never will.

LIke what was said up above people talk shit about i immagrants getting jobs, but like my neighbor who is a labor contracter told me, they have to do the job because americans wont do it! Its just not gonna happen.

I've got a few properties spread around the country and I've been shopping for the home quite a lot the past few years, I miss american manufacturing quality in just about everything.

I have always bought american whenever possible. It has become very difficult to do now.

$200 jeans hell no I won't go. If I'm buying for instance an American flag on the Fourth of July, I get the made in American one. If I'm getting towels that I'm going to wipe my ass with I get made in Paki or India.

DaFace 01-26-2013 05:02 PM

I'd pay a little more for something that was produced locally, but I'm not going to pay out the ass for it. The "THEY TOOK OUR JEERBS" people don't really understand how free markets work.

BlackHelicopters 01-26-2013 05:03 PM

I steal both American and foreign made goods.
