What music are you into right now???

I like all kinds of music. Country, rap , rock , classic rock, alt rock, jazz, metal rock, etc.....
right now I'm into "theory of a deadman". I've got a Rhapsody account and like to change my music to fit my mood. For the past week I've been into "theory of a deadman" Bad Girlfriend. which is an excellent song by the way..

But my question is ...What are the other Planetteers listening to???

As of last night, I'm into Mike Doughty, former frontman of Soul Coughing. It's pretty good stuff. Other's in rotation:
Wolf Parade
Fleet Foxes
Against Me
My Morning Jacket
Band of Horses
Arcade Fire
Aceyalone
Talib Kweli
MF Doom
Drive By Truckers
Ryan Adams (Whiskeytown years as much as anything)

holy shit could Theory of a deadman's new song be any more of a rip off of the cult firewoman. I can't even do my shtick on this thread. I burned a crapton of my morning jacket, Karate, Rush, sick puppies, me you and the gimmie gimmie's, unwritten law, and because I like to drink and put on stupid hats and dance like a fool

santana

I'm always all over the place, but the thing that has most recently been blowing up my earholes is electro and French house stuff. You know, mostly. Boys Noize (****ing love Boys Noize), Danger, Justice, DatA, and so on.

But I've also been listening to Regina Spektor, who is probably at the top spot of my "people I want to grow up to be" list. And some Living Colour, because someone gave me rep for posting a "Cult of Personality" video and I really like them.

anything and everything `Depth-Charge`
lots of older Moonshine Over America
Some older-schooled Mickey Finn and Aphrodite
Ruff Ryderz
John B (The king of electronica)
Grooverider
any Joker Label

oh and, Buddy Holly

Cool. I'll check it out when I get home.

Demonpenz 09-12-2008 09:10 AM

I haven't gotten my hands or head deep in a bunch of stuff lately, because I work alot, and do other projects, but I plan on really giving a good listen to new stuff because I am trying to not go out drinking and doing dumbass shit. My next project will be to give a long listen to some other stuff. It is crazy how much you like a band if you can get your guitar or snare to sound remotely like that band.

Red Brooklyn 09-12-2008 10:12 AM

they listen to Mika a lot at work... so I'm diggin' on that right now... some standard favorites:

peal jam
martin sexton
the decemberists
rilo kiley
tegan and sara
alanis
radiohead
band of horses
elliott smith
cat stevens
liz phair
beatles (of course)
beck
ben folds
frames (well... anything glen does really)

I'll listen to anything really...

In Tulsa? We were going to that but going to Theory of a Deadman instead on the 23rd.
