yea but on paper there isnt going to be a WR that comes close to the numbers of Harvin or Jennings

2013 will be Jennings' eighth year in the league. He hasn't been able to finish the last two.

I don't know why anyone would want him to sign with the Chiefs.

Reid will tell Wiley, "Son you have talent but your a pussy and need to "sack up" and stay healthy and find a pair hands if you are going to be on my team".

This. Let's please not waste a #1 pick. I for one think this guy can still pan out for us big time.

Here we go with the Breaston debate again.

He's just fine as a #2. He proved that in 2011.

If we get Harvin he needs to play in the slot anyway.

Yea but Breaston is owed $3.8 this year, not sure they are gonna live with that.

He is not explosive off the line and not explosive out of breaks consistently. There have been flashes but they are few and far between. I'd give Baldwin this year and then make a decision next year on him.

I hope Reid tells Baldwin to lose 15 lbs. I think that would help him with gain some speed to be honest.

He is too heavy out there at 230.

No worries.... its very unusual for teams to look for veterans in the draft.....

ChiefGator 01-10-2013 03:47 AM

There is a lot of misconception on Harvin's availability. He has averaged 15 games a season over his first three seasons. This year he was fine until he screwed up his ankle and at that time he was leading all receivers in catches. Bowe averages 14.5 games of availability a season.

Ha!

"So NONE of these guys have ANY experience in the NFL?!?"

So, once the Broncos pick up Peytons 2 year 40 million guaranteed option, does that mean they'll be $2 mil over the cap before releasing players?

BossChief 01-15-2013 08:09 PM

We are 16 million under BEFORE we roll over the unused cap space from last year and cut Tyson Jackson.

The rollover should add another 15 and cutting Jackson should add another 8-10.

They better utilize the rollover and use it to lock up Bowe.

The 16.1m is with the roll over.

The cap this year shouldn't effect Bowe, unless they plan to put his guaranteed money on the books this year.

As I've stated so many times, it's ALL about the signing bonus/guaranteed upfront money, not the mythical salary cap.

ClevelandBronco 01-15-2013 08:13 PM

Make sure that you subtract whatever Rahim Moore was making from the Broncos payroll.

BossChief 01-15-2013 08:15 PM

How is that even possible?

Where can we go to see the breakdown of that?

We were like 20 under last year and that was with Bowe counting for 10.

Chiefs were only 14m under the cap last year.

BossChief 01-15-2013 08:32 PM

So without the rollover, we were only 2 million under and that with the contracts of Bowe, Hillis, Albert, Dorsey, Colquit and others falling off the books?

That doesn't seem right.

Rausch 01-15-2013 08:33 PM

Clearly the new CBA included a clause that Denver would be $20 mil under the cap every year.

No matter what...

Remember all that talk about the cash spending last year? That cash is starting to show up on the cap.

I said this in the past. If they are telling the truth about cash spent in 2012, then our cap space will shrink in the years that follow.
