Maybe I'm just slow, but I didn't get the ending of Hereafter.

I don't think it was an ending that you are supposed to get really. The whole thing was an expositional piece, I think it was an expression of Clint Eastwood's concerns about life after death.

Eat some shrooms. They always make movies like that much better. I still haven't nor have any desire to watch that movie.

Me neither. If I haven't see it by now I can't imagine ever seeing it.

When you check out a movie on RT and it has a high tomatometer rating like Drive (93%) you need to check the audience rating (79%). It's can tell you that it may not be that great of a movie. I went to see Contagion and I thought it sucked. It had a tomatometer rating of 84% and an audience rating of 65%.

It's actually the opposite. If the audience likes it less than the critics then it is virtually guaranteed to be a really good movie.

If you have a 1080p TV and a blu-ray player, I suggest watching it on the visual effects alone.

Oh, so then it wasn't just me. Cool. :)

That's what the shrooms are for. God I wish I were a stupid kid again.

Saw Fast Five last night. It is what it is. I was expecting reeruned over the top crap, and most of it was but they at least tried to keep from focusing on it.

[spoiler] however, I couldnt get over the safe shit though. Really? They say it weighs 10 ton and the cash is 5 ton. 30,000 lb and they're expecting me to believe a charger will pull it with no wheels? They can soup it up and get more power but there will never be the traction to get it done. And then they whip it around and keep the cars on the road. Those cars can't weigh more than 3000 pounds. 30000 going sideways would just jerk it off the road. [\spoiler]

I was willing to look past the goofy crap but I can't let that go.

The safe scene was way to unbelievable but i just ignored it and kept watching as painful as that was to my logical thinking. Just like the train scene i was like whatever. But it was somewhat entertaining.

I actually recently won a 50 inch 1080p TV. No blu-ray yet though.

I'm watching The Mist in black and white. It's even more creepy this way.

Is that with Tommy Lee Jones?

I know it's been commented on, but I watched the Adjustment Bureau last night. What a shitty movie that was. Cornball and slow and lame and boring.

jiveturkey 10-13-2011 02:21 PM

I like Hannah quite a bit.

One of the best movies i've seen in quite a while is Everything Must Go, starring Will Ferrell, its his Lost in Translation... where the comedic actor comes into his own & gets respect as a more serious figure.

Great story about a guy who's lost everything & decides to live in his front yard, sounds cliche, but the best words i can come up with are 'heartfelt & touching'.

Loved it.
