You just have to leave it alone and walk away.

I say to them..."I was just about to ask you for some "whatever the asked for"

The best bum ever was the guy on the plaza who asked for a down payment on a cheeseburger.

The most common line is that they have kids in a car and the car is out of gas.

Dane is right usually avoiding eye contact works but not always.

I one time had a bum just run up to me while rapping "rappers delight". Another informed me that he's out here robbing and stealing for his kids. I just laughed.

We'll, I'd say that 99% of the time, they're mentally ill. There's a soup kitchen and homeless shelter off of Hollywood and Gower. Those that frequent that facility aren't truly capable of a job. As a matter of fact, I rarely encounter a homeless person that appears to be capable of holding a job.

But, that doesn't mean I'm going to give them money, especially if I'm with my children. There's help for those people but it's clear they aren't interested.

What's funny is he did that for years while wearing a Denver Broncos jacket. Guy was a regular at Dave's Stagecoach.

You still see him every once in awhile at the plaza or in the City Market.

If you DON'T give him money now - he insults you as you walk away, which is a nice touch to his routine, I think.

Good. After I typed that I realized I hadn't seen him in a while and he was probably dead. I think someone gave him a Chiefs jacket at some point to replace that Broncos bullshit. Yeah, I never gave him anything. He'd take the trash out and clean the toilets at Dave's Stagecoach for beer.

Haha that is awesome. I never give money to bums but if I did I would give him some for being funny.

My all time favrotie bum was the puppet master. He never said a word instead he would play with puppets. I haven't seen him in like 10 years.

Thats cool you've been to Daves Stagecoach. I don't think I've ever met anyone who's been there despite its awesome location.

was approached by a bum in downdown stl. I walked past him, acting like I couldn't even hear him. the wife stopped and listened to his sob story. I just turned around and gave him a ****in $20. he slobbered all over the place and took off, almost running.

she jumped my shit for giving him so much, but I haven't seen her stop and listen to any sob stories since. I hate going to the city.

In his defense, he'd already been bought two dollar burgers. He needed money for insulin before accepting more burgers.
