I think Crennel might thrive in a 4-3 defense.

Then he could do what he likes to do, rush the 4 Dlineman and drop 7 into coverage. Unlike with a 2-gap 3-4, he would actually have 4 guys rushing the passer.

Right now we basically only rush Hali because Dorsey,Gregg and Jackson basically sacrifice themselves to protect the LB's until it's definitely a pass play. Losing the 1st step puts them at a serious disadvantage in a pass rush.

Put Hali at RDE and Houston at LDE ... pull Jackson, turn Dorsey loose and tell Gregg to play run first.
