Lake. There's less chance of the body washing up to shore if you weigh it down properly.

I like them both. 8 years ago I moved to a house on the lake and now I don't go camping as much because every day its just like camping.

Lake, but that's assuming that I'm towing a boat.

Lake. Moving water kinda freaks me out.

This question is killing me. I really can't decide.
Lakes have better big-picture scenery, but rivers have more dynamic scenery. I can easily drown in a lake if I fall in, but I'm more likely to fall in at a river. Lakes have gigantic fish that will eat me if I go in the water, but rivers have crocodiles that will eat me on the banks. I think I would go with a river, but it's really close. |

I go where the vegetables are green,
and you can pee into the stream. |
I'm waiting for the River Phoenix or Ricki Lake parody thread.

My top choice would probably be a scenic river for fly fishing (and the soothing sounds of rushing water), but I voted for a lake based on the two descriptions you gave. I have no interest in tubing or floating. White water rafting is fun though.

I chose Rivers. Much more in touch with nature on a river.

Secluded mountain lakes. They're dead quiet, except for the birds and the beer cans popping open.
