Its why Windu was able to burn Palpatine with his own force lightning.
Vaapad was pretty damn close to the dark side, so very few Jedi's were even allowed to train in it. Windu was just a badass all the way around.

It really was. I liked how they tied in the aforementioned. I also really enjoyed Darth Plageius and the legacy series. Good call on the Sith Emperor. He was scary to read about.
