Why would Mizzou need to blow Auburn out if OSU loses? If they lose, the SEC champion will go. I don't think there's even a question about that.

The only place I have seen that idea is ChiefsPlanet. |
If my team weren't involved I would probably say, "OSU is from a major conference and is undefeated, so you have to take them over any 1-loss team".
But in my mind I think Auburn is better, so if I were a voter I'd probably vote that way. I think that argument will be buttressed by the fact that even if OSU wins, Auburn is going to come out ahead of them in some rankings or it will be pretty darn close because they played a much tougher schedule. Missouri probably doesn't have that card in our back pocket, we won't have as strong of a ranking as Auburn would if we end up winning. I think Auburn controls their destiny, but Mizzou would probably need an OSU loss. |
They are on a hell of a run!

Missouri football should be in good position for years to come. Think about it. They've got a proven established head coach. They're the only major college football program in their state. They can recruit across a vast expanse - virtually anywhere west to the Rockies, along the soft underbelly of the under-achieving Big 10 including Illinois, Iowa and even Nebraska. Arkansas is down now, so they should have opportunities there even. The northernmost school to play in the unquestioned best conference SEC.
The move to the SEC set them up in an almost perfect situation. |

We aren't going to start raking in league titles regardless of what goes down Saturday but there's no reason to think we can't compete & hold our own & challenge for the league every once in awhile. |
