No wonder America turned out to be such a bad ass country. I saw some epic mustaches that were epic in some of them photos.

I had bad asthma as a kid, and all I can think about while looking at these photos is that I probably would not have survived infancy, and if I did I would have been damn miserable. Nice to see all of these work-hungry kick ass Americans kicking ass. Funny how life carried on with no TV, internetz, or iPhones. Business still got done, and ass was kicked.

I thought the same thing at first, but I think maybe we're thinking of pics of Atlantic City at the turn of the 20th century.

Was just at the rail yards in pic 1 today.

The Steamtown mall has windows facing what's left of the rail yards, so the people can watch the trains

Amazing the definition some of the old photos have.

I have a book collection of old photos from ww2 and the civil war.

Ship launchings always freak me out because, for some reason, to me it always looks like the ships are going to capsize.

It's weird to think that every single person in those photos are dead.

This really belongs in the history photo thread in picture lounge. Pretty cool picks.

My dad had a bunch of pictures from ww2 from the Philippines & I remember one of a guy with elephantitis was carrying his balls in a wheel barrel. I don't know what happened to that picture though. He had big balls.
