Forgetting Sarah Marshall

I watched this last night (rented copy) and as much as I wanted to hate it I ended up liking it a lot. Now I want to buy the DVD. Here's the question:

There is an unrated collectors edition that is 229 minutes. The one I watched was 118 minutes (unrated). Which one do you recommend and why?

I don't like him either, but I have to admit he was just great in this movie.

We rented this a couple of weeks ago and I thought it was awful.

It was a very good movie. I watched the UNRATED version (Netflix). You DO NOT want the UNRATED version unless you want to see Jason Segal's dick a 1000 times. I was thinking UNRATED = nude Mila Kunis - WRONG! :doh!:

I had already erased that from my memory. Thanks! :cuss:

My wife liked it, however.

I actually was about to quit watching after the early scenes generous with Jason Segel's genitals. Thought the whole movie was gonna be like that. Luckily it wasn't and the movie actually became good (IMO).

There was more than enough in the 118 minute version's early scenes. If the 225 minute one is just more of that, then no thanks.

I don't know, I was just shocked that it was shown that much - period! I guess I assumed it was only in the unrated version. Movies are like radio - getting away with more and more. My wife was saying gee it is like they are intentionally showing it! Again my thoughts were cool we are getting this shit out of the way to make room for the Mila Kunis show! NOT! :cuss:

This movie was outstanding.

Maybe in the 225 minute version?

The movie was okay. Nothing special. The thing I hate about all those Apatow films is he and his band of geeks NEED to work on editing. Comedies shouldnt run THAT long and his type of films go on forever and ever. We get it! You guys love to improv!

Forgetting Sarah Marshall just beats out Pineapple Express as my favorite comedy of 2008 (having not yet seen Zack & Miri or Role Models).

I was really impressed with Mila Kunis' performance in this flick.

My comedy rankings this year:
  1. Role Models
  2. Burn After Reading
  3. Forgetting Sarah Marhall
  4. Pineapple Express
  5. Tropic Thunder
  6. Be Kind Rewind
  7. Step Brothers
  8. Get Smart
  9. Baby Mama

There's something of a dropoff after Be Kind Rewind. Step Brothers was okay, Get Smart was iffy but it grew on me, and Baby Mama was just not good (as much as I like Tina Fey).

Keep in mind these are all of the comedies I saw this year, so it's not like I consider them all to be Top 10 movies.
