Goddamn, Steen's a ****ing machine.

20th goal in 24 games.

The Sharks are putting an ass whooping on the Blues. 3-0 in the first.

Can't win 'em all, and I kinda saw this coming. Big win, followed by a holiday on the road, then a funky afternoon start.

If they play like shit after a 2 day break against LA Monday night, that will concern me a bit.

Everything looks pretty harmless here.

For what it's worth, all charges against Varlamov were dropped.

I'd say the Blues/Blackhawks is exactly the type of game that doesn't deserve to end in a shootout, but even the shootout has been pretty damn impressive.

Long, but interesting read on the selection process for Team USA.

I make these types of decisions pretty often, so it's interesting to see it from a different perspective, and well, not from my ps3.

Loved the winter classic, that is always great to watch. Hockey in the snow. I wonder how that game looks in the upper deck.

I went to a college outdoor game in Omaha last year, and it's definitely more about the experience/novelty than trying to really focus on what's going on. The ice was between first and third in a baseball stadium... we were about 15 rows back on the 3rd base side and it's just a bad angle to watch hockey... we went to the top of the lower deck later on, which was somewhat better, but then you're really far away from the action. I went to the ACC tournament a few years ago in the Georgia Dome, and watching basketball from the upper deck of a dome is pretty strange, but at least the court was in the endzone... watching basketball or hockey when it's set at the 50 yard line would kind of suck.

It's a cool idea though... just much to watch on TV. On a side note, the jerseys were great, and some of the other alternates that are being used for the other outdoor games look pretty cool, too.
