Ultraviolet Code Exchange?

Anyone interested in having a thread like this? I'm a big fan of digital copies and would even prefer buying UV codes rather than physical discs. I know others are the opposite and probably never even use their UV codes.

So, with the caveat that I'm not necessarily even looking for anything right now, here's a thread to exchange codes. Let's see how it goes.

I've kinda gotten into these recently. Real nice to have access on my phone anywhere anytime.

My question: It doesn't seem that Ultraviolet actually does the hosting. So what if the hosts stop hosting one of your movies? Ex. I access my collection thru VUDU, what happens if vudu stops hosting ...Big trouble in little china?

There are actually quite a few providers that can use UltraViolet licenses. I've used both Vudu and Flixster, and the UV website lists about 5 others. It's definitely possible that a movie you buy might not be viewable if one of the providers loses the license, but it's pretty rare.

yep. That exact thing happened to me on CinemaNow. It was not a UV title though. I would definitely trust UV titles more than anything else though.

Yep - I've used it, and it works great (for the movies they support anyway). I found that around 50% of the ones I wanted to "convert" were available. You can use the search box right on that page you linked to see what's available and what's not.

Also, Flixster has started a similar service, and they'll give you 5 freebies when you try it out (though apparently this may not be for ALL accounts). All UV titles are interchangeable, so most you can get on Flixster and play on Vudu and vice versa.

That's kind of why I thought this thread would be good to have. I bet a lot of people don't even care about having the UV codes and might be willing to give/sell them to others.

I'm not personally interested in Hellboy, though. :)

Both are quite good. You should check them out.

I am interested but I prefer iTunes Digital Copies.

If anyone is interested I have:

Jack Reacher
The Dark Knight Returns
Argo
Pitch Perfect
Django

All sourced from US Blu-ray movies.

iTunes or UV? I could possibly be interested in TDKR, and my wife liked Pitch Perfect I think.

There are still some flaws in there program. I tried to add a DVD yesterday and after I added it to the queue I realized that I had the BR and would rather use it because it is cheaper. I deleted the DVD and then tried to add the BR. IT would add to the queue but when I would go to the cart it was still the DVD version. Had to give up.

I also tried to add the BR version of The Bourne Trilogy. I added Bourne Identity, then tried the next 2 films but it would only recognize them as the Bourne Identity. Fail.

I guess I will have to take them to Walmart if I want to add them.
