Back home from the game. Sat by some nice folks from SD. Play of the game (screw the flags) was Keon Stowers interception and return for a TD. Yeah it got called back, but hell, anytime your nose tackle runs an interception back, it's freakin epic!

Just got back myself. I've never sweat so much at a football game. It was a hot one. I'd like to see a little better play from the QB bit overall not to bad.

I will put 2 circles around that game :) |
Wasn't too impressed with the overall performance (although I didn't watch the whole game and was flipping between a few other games) but it was pretty interesting to see Charlie's evolution (splits, alignments, etc.) since Florida.

Not bad at all. Very encouraging.

I'll be curious to hear about Taylor Cox. We're fairly strong at RB, but I never like to see a kid pull up lame on a breakaway.

Stadium was pretty full other than the visitors corner. That was nice to see. My 3 year old had a blast which was the best part for me. It was a sensory overload from the moment we entered the stadium. He was in awe. Even with the heat he was awesome, actually threw a fit when we had to leave...that was the best.
In terms to play on the field, the 1st quarter looked a lot like the play from the team last year. It was somewhat discouraging. SD was running the ball with no problem and our receivers were dropping everything. That's said...it looks like they just got off to a slow start when you look at the big picture. Overall, I was hoping to see a little bit more of an explosive passing offense with the hype around Heaps...but we are the Jayhawks and I will take a W any way we cam get it. |

Really? Wow, that team has fallen since that 2005 title. |
Slow start and didn't click quite as well as I was hoping, but it was the first game. Looked good at times, bad at others. So many early drops it drove me crazy.
Overall, I'm optimistic for the year. Heaps looks solid. Good feet, good arm strength & accuracy. RB's looked good - definitely going to be a strength. Defense looked great at times and then bad at others. |
Weis knows where his bread is buttered. 50 rushing attempts. It was almost like being back at Camp Randall watching the Badgers.
