Lol. They are one of them. The colts face the Giants after their week 8 bye, the patriots after their week 10 bye, and the Jags after their week 11 bye.

Colts also have a week 10 bye so no advantage over Pats. **** the colts.

Looks pretty tough at this point. Although, we've been thru this before. Just impossible to tell right now how it will play out.

Most likely a game played on Sunday for the 1st 5 weeks and then take a week off where they will mostly engage in the task of Bye. After which they will resume play until they have played 16 games. At this time they will compare wins and losses and nominate a smaller group of teams to continue to play for a few more weeks for doing a super job up until now. If you do really super duper good they let you have more Bye for 1 more week, and then you hope to keep winning till you are the last team to not lose.

Think KC turned out ok w/ this schedule.

2 of our 3 toughest non-divisional games @home (Pats, Hawks, @SF)
2 prime time games @Arrowhead, including one of previous 3 I mentioned and Denver our toughest division foe
BYE week b/n toughest 2 gm road stretch, which helps
Entire 2nd half of season alternating Away/Home, so no multi gm road swings down the stretch, including 3 division home games, and all 4 of these road games are winnable (not gimmes but winnable)

I could see 10 wins if we can hold our MNF home date w/ Pats and steal a road gm @MIA or @SD and start that opening stretch 3-3

Of course, we've a lot of unanswered Qs, so I could also see 10 losses, with a slow start we could be lookin at 1-5

I'm less worried about the difficulty of the schedule than I am with the problems with the holes on this team. This is an off year imo and we'll go 8-8 or 9-7, if we can be 9-6 going into that home game against the Chargers we'll go 10-6, or at least we better!

I wish they played all the teams coming off their bye weeks.

Lots of interesting matchups this year... then again, they tend to always look like that at this time of year. However, with the NFCW vs AFCW - that creates a lot of good games.

I didn't look at OAK, but my first glance at SD has them at 8 or 9 wins... I think KC and Denver are both in the 11/12 win range. It's going to be a dogfight.

If you break the games out into 4 at a time:

1st 4 - DEN 3/1, KC 2/2, SD 3/1
2nd 4 - Den & KC 3/1, SD 1/3
3rd 4 - Den, KC and SD all 3/1
4th 4 - Den & KC 3/1, SD 1/3

I think SD will be streaky..

The Chiefs proved last year that they are still feckless when it comes to winning their own division games. Until that changes, I'm not going to be too optimistic.

I already feel like a huge homer picking 9-7. Anything greater than that is going to have to fall into the "pleasant surprise" category. I.E. we figure out how to win more than two ****ing division games in a season, and the losses we sustained in free agency are successfully filled in by the next man up.

1. Chiefs start horribly. Season over before the first snow hits.

2. Chiefs end season on an upswing due to home games, etc.

3. Homers say: we are going to be really good next year!

Bold prediction -calling the season over by the middle of November.

Another positive note is last year we were able to win on the road. We ended up with a better away record than home

Newsflash, every team in our division will have a ball busting schedule this year. Probably easier to win our division than to make it as a wild card. 9-7 or even 8-8 can win this division this year.

ForeverChiefs58 04-24-2014 11:44 AM

I think chiefs say **** it and make playoffs where they unexpectedly win a playoff game.
