Dingleberry's mock draft

Round 1 - This pick is dependent on if Dorsey signs a FS in Free agency or not. If he does the pick should be a WR like Marqise Lee. If he doesn't this pick should be Calvin Pryor FS if he is still on the board. Lets face it our biggest weaknesses are FS and WR. FS in our defense is a very important position and we need a guy with tremendous range, a guy like Pryor has this and should be an excellent starter the first year.

Round 3- This pick is dependent upon our first round pick, if we go FS in the 1st this absolutely needs to be a WR or TE. I really like Kasen Williams WR for Washington, he is another possession receiver but I think he will be a very good player. If we go WR in the 1st round we need to look at the secondary here. Get a guy like a Lamarcus Joyner FS or Marcus Roberson CB. This secondary needs help and it never hurts to have to many good secondary players.

Round 4 - Pass rusher is the pick here, I really like DE Ethan Westbrooks. He is only 275 pounds but has the frame to add more weight. This guy is from a smaller school in West Texas A & M University but I think this guy could be an incredible football player with the right coaching and strength program.

Round 5 - Offensive line depth I would go with a guy like Jake Fisher T from Oregon or a guy like Andrew Norwell from Ohio St. Norwell has some flexibility on the line and Fisher was a pretty good was a really good run blocker.

Round 6a - More secondary help here if he falls, Ty Zimmerman really impressed me and I am not a Kstate fan, I felt like this kid was a very smart player and was coached up pretty well. He would be well worth a 6th round flyer although im not sure he will make it this far.

Round 6b - Devon Kennard OLB USC guy is a pretty good athlete good size and decent speed. I think he is another guy the coaches could coach up into a good football player, he should also produce on special teams as a rookie.

Round 7 - Shaq Evans basically just a flyer here and take your pick but the guy had some production in college and has decent speed worth a 7th rounder.

Ehhh, Pryor is a second round talent. Would be better to spend that pick on a CB with great man cover skills, Jason Verrett comes to mind at that range. If Darquez Dennard drops to the 20s with a slower than expect 40, I would take a hard look at him too. Lee might be available, but I would also look at which player could improve the team more overall as well. Also, Wr is easily addressed in the FA market or later in the draft.

People forget that the team just came off of a game where they put up 44 points without their best offensive skills player on the field in Charles. Chiefs also led the league in allowing the most explosive plays by a pretty large margin. If you look at it this way, one dominant offensive skills player added to the team would mean maybe a 3-5 point average increase offensively. Adding a dominant defensive talent to help limit the explosive plays could improve the defense by a significantly larger margin. This offense can get by without dominant players at the skills positions due to its scheme and design, the defense can't do that because it truly depends on individuals winning their 1 on 1 battles; especially when you're talking about the secondary. So I would go largely defense in this draft with 1 or 2 offensive picks.
