GTA V Announced - Trailer Online 11.02.11

http://www.rockstargames.com/ I figured this would be coming soon with the 10 year anniversary of GTAIII. |
I hope they get rid of all of the 'social' interactions with other characters that they had in GTA IV. It was ok at first, but it got annoying when you're trying to get to a mission and people are calling you to go play darts or go bowling or some other stupid mini-game.
And I REALLY hope that they incorporate the combat system from Red Dead Redemption. |

The only relationship worth keeping up was the law chick that got rid of your wanted level. |
I wish they would make more Red Deads. Red Dead Redemption was the best GTA game ever.

****, I was hoping RDR2 would come first.

I don't care, I love R* games. I'm crazy about GTA, Read Dead, and L.A. Noire. Whatever they want to make next, I'll play it.
|
Damn, has it really been ten years since GTA3. What a fun game that was

Really wondering where the setting will be for this game...Tokyo? London? Rio? Just random thoughts...

Meh for now. Saints Row has been doing it better for awhile.
|
Man . . . this is great. Where's Ultra Peanut?

There's Los Santos and the big mountain. No sign of the rest of San Andreas.
Looks like the main character might be an old Tommy Vercetti. |

A lot of people enjoyed Saints Row 2 more than GTAIV -- not that difficult to fathom.
I look forward to this release though. I hope the world will be a bit more interactive than GTAIV was. |
Saints Row games own because there's SO. MUCH. STUFF. TO DO, and the customization is great because SR2 ended up providing one of my favorite female protagonists from any video game ever (and I'm sure SR3 will do a great job of that, too, even if I am worried by the way they tarted up Shaundi and completely changed her awesome Dushku-voiced stonerness).
But Rockstar. I'll always love you, Rockstar. You are so good at providing expansive-digitized-environment porn. http://i.imgur.com/EV4sz.jpg |

Am I nuts, or is that Ray Liotta (Tommy Vercetti) speaking?
|
That's not Ray Liotta's voice, it's T.J. Rotolo's.
|
My favorite absurd rumor that won't come true but I want it to so bad: Tommy and CJ are both playable, with a plot that involves both of them.
I fully expect that the III-era characters are still dead and dusted for the purposes of modern GTA games, but it would be so fun to see a middle-aged CJ and card-carrying AARP member Tommy Vercetti. |
Wait, people play GTA for the story?
|
That trailer was pretty weaksauce.

‘Grand Theft Auto V’ goes back to Cali in debut trailer
GTA loves L.A. The first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto V is here, and the rumor mill got it right: we're headed back to Los Angeles -- or GTA's twisted version of it, at least. So it's clearly set in a modern-day Los Angeles…or should we say, Los Santos. That was the name Rockstar Games gave the L.A.-themed city featured in the best-selling Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and it's pretty obvious we'll be treading on the same ground here. A few famous L.A. locations are referenced, including the Santa Monica Pier (re-dubbed the "Pleasure Pier"), Venice Beach, and of course the Hollywood 'Vineland' sign. Clocking in at just a minute and half, the trailer introduces us to, well, a guy. A guy who moved to Los Santos for a better, sunnier life. A guy who then somehow winds up getting into insane car chases and gun fights, we'd reckon, as his life spins wildly out of control purely for our digital amusement. Though the trailer is pretty vague, we can glean a couple hints at the theme. Financial turmoil seems to play a big role. A foreclosure notice is hammered into the ground. A homeless man begs for change. A tent city is pitched under the freeway. Even the game's logo references the almighty dollar. GTA doesn't shy away from tackling big issues, and these days, it doesn't get any bigger than the economic downturn. Expect that to play a major role in the plot. Also of note is a quick shot of three hikers about to explore the mountains. That's a far cry from the strictly urban setting of GTA IV, though players did get a little more rural in GTA: San Andreas. Grand Theft Camping Equipment? Sounds awesome! So when's the game coming out? Your guess is as good as ours, but if recent Rockstar history is any indication, a release late next year certainly isn't out of the question. The company released the debut trailer to L.A. Noire in November of 2010; the game hit shelves in May of 2011. As with any GTA trailer, this one is bound to be scientifically analyzed by gamers over the next few months. Find any cool clues yourself? |
One of the blogs pointed out a license plate on one of the cars said Oct, so maybe a 10-12 release date?
|
Going by their past releases, it's probably 6-10 months away.

I am cautiously optimistic about this game because of how much I didn't like GTA IV, but this trailer looks amazing...
|
I thought the trailer was horrible.

Hell I'd be more excited for a new Red Dead than GTA5 to be honest.

Grand Theft Auto V is Coming Spring 2013
http://media.rockstargames.com/rocks...1351545051.jpg Today, we're proud to announce that Grand Theft Auto V is expected to launch worldwide spring 2013 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V takes place in a re-imagined, present-day Southern California in the largest and most thriving game-world we have ever created set in the sprawling city of Los Santos and for miles beyond – from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the ocean. Starting next week November 5, 2012, Grand Theft Auto V will become available for pre-order everywhere and fans can expect a host of new information to become available in November. Look for downloadable desktop versions of the brand new artwork above coming very soon. http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire |
My boy who works at Rockstar told me that RDR 2 has taken a backseat while they try to pump this out, but it should be coming out late 2013 or early 2014.
|
I was very annoyed on how the driving controls were in the last game. I got used to it...just didn't like the joystick controls etc. JMO
|
Loved 2 and 3 but for me it got stale after that.
Graphics/style didn't seem to change much and the storyline didn't push me from the 24 hour rent to want-to-buy... |
Sleeping Dogs was my GTA V. Fantastic ****ing game.
|
need PC version or no ****s given.

I hat buying these games. Red Dead is the only one of them I have almost finished. I guess I finished Noir, but that was a huge disappointment. Ultimately I'll hate to drop $65 on a game that I will just end up stealing cars and killing pedestrians.

and I agree about the GTA games; fun as shit but as son as I finished it was bored pretty quick. .....but damn, these are tempting. lol |
