Ferentz has been linked here every year since '09. Like Herpes, or us being mocked a LT in the 1st, it'll never stop.

He was linked to Jax and Cleveland (because of Phil Savage) even before that. He's only been on the Chiefs radar since the arrival of Pioli but as a Hawkeye fan, the KF rumors have been an offseason staple since 2003.

2003, which would be about the last time he was a relevant coach.

Not really.

Contrary to what most Iowa fans want to believe, Iowa is closer to Northwestern than Michigan. He's a fine coach.

4-8 in the B1G and the guy is winless against Bo Pelini (who's an average coach). Ferentz would do just as bad as Crennel if not worse. You can't run players into the ground in the NFL like he does at Iowa.

This is why sometimes the internet sucks. One guy can take one shot in the dark and suddenly it's a source of news.

I was off by a year. 10 wins and the Outback Bowl in 2004. '08 and '09 were fine, too.

7 wins in '05. 6 wins in '06. 6 wins in '07. 8 wins in '10. 7 wins in '11. 4 wins in '12.

That's a pretty long run of crappy football, and the conference as a whole has been down for much of that. I could understand him being part of an NFL coaching discussion in the 2010 offseason, but 19 wins in 3 years? His name shouldn't be coming up at all for pro jobs now.

(Not that I'm convinced it actually is...)

College football is about talent. Pelini has more of it than Ferentz does, and he ALWAYS will.

sounds like the mediocre kind i would expect the Chiefs to pick

Exoter175 12-31-2012 08:15 PM

Kirk Ferentz and Ricky Stanzi were 3-0 in bowl games at Iowa, Sign him, print it, Ricky Stanzi is your new starting QB.

The Mayans foretold this!
