I would not get rid of Bell
and this is my reasoning. Despite what the coaches say, he has been hurt the whole season. He's only been in the league three seasons and was able to play just two of them so he's still very young and learning. I think he's done what Gun has wanted but why he wasn't turned loose to destroy I don't knoiw. Bell was a killer in Pitt and will be again.

That cap hit next year will be hard to swallow.
|
I would love Bell to come back and be a monster, but only if he reworks his deal. If he wants big cash I'd rather take Fox.
|
I think he's just playing out of position. But for the rise of Kawika Mitchell I think he might have been effective.
If we ran a 3-4 that might be a nice combo. |
Much like Priest, you can't justify giving so much money to a player who can't stay on the field.

bothers me that he seems to be avoiding extending his arms when tackling.
his shoulder is still hurt or he's afraid to get hurt again. |

cap hits like Shields PH and Roaf are hard to swallow but
Bell's not really. Barber should be cut and i think Bell will stay at least 1 more year. |

Bell's done more than Barber, IMO. Plus, If Woods can ride the pine with the kind of jack he's making, I don't see Bell's contract numbers out of line, in the least. Let's get rid of the those riding the pine with big salaries before getting rid of starters. Sound like a plan?

how do ya figure those are hits?cept Holmes |
we can save much cutting expensive "backups" like Woods Bartee or MCCleon and Barber who are making millions without doing anything no need to get rid of Bell now.
|
If barber can get back to 100% and can rip Heads off better than Bell (see Rich Gannon)... I say keep Barber over Bell....

Barber would make 2.75 million next year almost no difference.
Woods 1.6 Mc Cleon 2.0 Bartee 1.1 |
