Look for most teams to back load the contracts this year. 2014 new TV deals cap goes up.

BossChief 03-06-2013 10:04 PM

Just wait for the rumors to start surfacing about them trying to clear cap space to give Alex Cassel his 100million dollar extension.

O.city 03-06-2013 10:05 PM

Therefor, re up Albert and back load the shit out of it.

Then when free agency hits, let Reid turn loose like.................well Reid in a candy store.

This is why it confused me that you were arguing against re-doing Tamba's deal and wanting to bite the bullet this year. If there is more room next year and after that wouldn't it be easier to push the money back?

I bet he gets a new deal 9.7m this year is high for him.

I just don't wanna add years to his deal. Hali at 33 wont be any good.

I've already got my Vick 100m and benched for a rookie the next year rebuttle ready and loaded.

Well that was part of your argument but it seemed you were also saying it just made more sense to keep the money on this year. If they want the $ to get a guy I don't mind it. Didn't he get a friendly contract anyway? I am not sure they are going to look for all this money to free up anyway. From the Dorsey perspective, he isn't going to be a guy looking to spend a ton in FA.

That's a weird situation though. Vick got hurt and when he came back the season was wasted already and Reid was out the door.

No Hali contract is awful for the team. 15m 2013 11.5m 2014 12m 2015

Strange. Not sure why I remember thinking it was a good one.

A redo wouldn't add time just turn most of his base into a signing bonus and spread over the last 2 years. As long as the cap goes up enough next year it will be easy to take the hit then not now.

Usually, as incentive to help the team by restructuring, the contract is extended. Otherwise the player has no incentive to restructure.

I don't know about that but Houston looked like the better pass rusher last year and he's still got room to grow...

Usually, a restructure just pays the player up front in cash as a bonus and that allows the team to spread that over a couple of years instead of having one big cap number for the current year.

Players are usually open to this because it gets them paid faster.
