So we trade for a speed WR and have a QB that won't pass the ball further than 4 yards downfield?

AJ is younger and may or may not look like ass considering he's played in only 3 games. So, Chiefs win?

There's a lot of truth to that.

Baldwin's a big, 'vertical' WR that thrives on those jump balls and downfield passes where he can just use his body and size to take the ball away from guys. Granted, he's not done it here, but if he makes it, that will be how.

He's doomed in a WCO - he's not quick enough in and out of his cuts to succeed in this offense. He has little chance to really realize his potential anywhere, but he had no chance at all to realize it here. This move can only help him.

As for Jenkins; he's more of a cut and run guy. And to whoever asked if he has any speed - yup, lots and lots of it. Perhaps Andy sees some DeSean Jackson in him.

This is a smart deal by (I hope) two very smart organizations. Like I said, it's very likely to be garbage in, garbage out, but both of the principals to the trade are significantly more likely to succeed where they're going than where they've been.

Peter King's sources say that Jon Baldwin has everything it takes to be a Pro Bowl receiver.

Jenkins has, by all accounts, been awful this TC and likely wouldn't have even made the team, but whatever - maybe this can be a jump start for him.

I still like Baldwin's talent and I still think some day the light may go on and he could amount to something. All that said, he's not going to amount to anything here. I remain convinced that Thomas Jones absolutely altered the course of Baldwin's career by being a dipshit thug.

49ers reached to draft Jenkins last year. He was a late 3rd/4th round talent IMO. I think he projects out to a fringe #2 or a solid #3.
