QBs falling?

With the QB carousel that has taken place this past week, most teams appear to have at minimum a stop gap QB for at least one season. This could allow some talented QBs to fall.

I'm beginning to hope that the chiefs are able to trade Albert for a late 2nd rounder and take EJ Manuel. He is the most physically gifted QB in this draft. He is big & athletic with a great arm and technique. He throws well in shorts but has not performed well in games. He seems to have the necessary drive that could help him develop. He can sit and learn.

What non Geno QB do you like, what round and why?

Take the best QB in the draft at #1

...Profit

I'd be fine with EJ Manuel. Mike Glennon is supposed to have a cannon for an arm, so he would be an interesting development project as well.

The guy that I used to like but I've really kind of soured on is Tyler Wilson. Those tiny little hands just sound like fumbles and wobbly passes waiting to happen.

Bray in the 3rd round.

He has the highest ceiling and biggest potential to bust. It will be feast or famine with him. But if he can sit for 2 - 3 years and develop we would have a great QB.

No.

EJ compares to big Ben physically. And most importantly he has the work ethic and drive. I used to be a Tyler Bray fan but I don't believe it is wise to take a QB with questionable work ethic.

Let's cleaar something up right now: Manuel does not have great technique. Manuel has shitty technique that will require a complete overhaul. He may be the most physically gifted qb in the draft, but I would have serious concerns about coachability and his ability to establish a consistent throwing motion simply because he was so inconsistent. Furthermore, it is difficult to assess if his accuracy issues result from hand eye coordination since his throwing motion is inconsistent.

You want a quarterback with a cannon for an arm, good work ethic, good pocket presence and a feel for the game?

Brad Sorenson of Southern Utah.

He'll need some time to adjust to a higher speed of game, but he's got the tools.

Nightfyre 04-06-2013 09:45 AM

He's like 26 isn't he?

Beats me. I know he originally committed to BYU, but I don't know if he did the LDS mission thing or not.

I know he got a lot of press here in Utah for being the best college QB in the state and that he's got a ton of upside in terms of arm strength and presence.

He's got slow feet, but really good pocket awareness, so it kind of evens out. Huge arm and a smart guy.

I read somewhere he did an LDS mission. I can't really seem to find his birthdate anywhere though.

Sorenson is 23.

Why would you hope to strike gold with a suck-ass prospect like Manuel or Glennon?

kcbubb 04-13-2013 06:48 PM

Does anybody know anything about Jeff Tuel? He's a late round prospect. He's pretty athletic.

03/16/2013 - 2013 Washington State Pro Day: Representatives from 10 NFL teams gathered at Washington State's pro day on March 7, where nine players participated in a workout that was held indoors on FieldTurf. Washington State QB Jeff Tuel earns extended looks...Jeff Tuel, QB (6-3, 218) - Tuel ran the 40 in 4.60 and 4.65 seconds. He had a 4.12-second short shuttle and a 6.90-second three-cone drill. He had a 32-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-3 broad jump. Tuel had a great pro day, and I suspect that he will have a strong showing when he has a workout with the New England Patriots on March 22. Tuel will be joined by receiver Marquess Wilson - who was at the combine - at that workout, which will be held at the University of Idaho. Tuel also has a two-day visit with the Buffalo Bills set up for April 8-9. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
