Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives
Every time I watch this ****ing show, I want to eat everything I see. Why can't my hometown have Juicy Lucy's or incredibly cheesy looking homemade Mac N Cheese with bacon. I hate this show.
|
Why didn't I come up with this idea?
Travel the world and ****ing pig out. |
That show's decent, but I think Man vs. food is way better.
|
It's a great show. Very addictive.
I imagine Guy Fieri as Phobia's distant brother. |
triple D is the bomb. Me and my fiance are going to St Louis later this month for a hospital visit, and afterwards we are going to go to Anthoninos (?sp) which we saw on the show.
After that, we are gonna make it a thing |
Guy Fieri is the ultimate douche, but I can't help but like the show.

dude's a self made man also. can you believe he started his "empire" from just a pretzel cart.
planning on forcing my 7 y.o. to do the same thing. ;) |
I hear his restaurants are over priced shit food.
|
I had some surgery this summer, and it required a stay at a rehab facility. I found out the my P.T. guy's mom had her show on 3D. It was Patty's Pierogies, in Fall River Mass.
|
The Juicy Lucy was a genius idea.

Watching this right now and they are in Kansas City at a place called "Pot Pie"
Anyone eat there? |

For a good steak try Anni Gunn's or Tucker's. Briskets = Bogart's or Pappy's. Ribs = Roper's. |
isnt there a guy fieri look-a-like that goes to Royals games sometimes?

Is Winstead's still there? I used to enjoy going there as a kid.
The Varsity is good in Atlanta. It is greasy as hell but the chili dogs and onion rings rock. It is right next to Georgia Tech. |

The show came to a place right up the street from us (Munches). Fantastic food. Great atmosphere.
Here's the link to the show. http://www.foodnetwork.com/diners-dr...kin/index.html |
Have to be careful on this stuff. Chef Tio in KC was like one of "THE" Chefs on Food TV. We went to her place in Waldo and it sucked…no, it SUCKED. The food was all over the place..4 courses two were out of this world, two were awful, the service was similar to going to Sonic. And worse was no response to feedback. Zero.
Compare that to Rye in KC…Total 100% Home run |
I watch it all the time.
|
He went to a place in KC that was known for their tater tot pizza, forgot what it was called. Everything on that show looks damn good.

He must get high first. Probably who South Park's Towlie is modeled after. Bleached, fluffy & absorbant.
|
Guy Fieri has reached Rachel Ray status. Way overexposed. Food Network might as well rebrand themselves Guy Fieri Network, it's ridiculous.
|
I watch 3D more for some of the recipes at the places they have. If I see something I would like to try and make I take notes....
I've been to a couple of the places they have featured before...the places were alright, nothing really wrong with them, but I can find great hole-in-the-wall places just as easily. There's a place here in Indy that they previewed...not bad, but there is a better place just 4 doors down. |
This guy isn't a douche. The guy who is a douche is the dude from Olathe who looks exactly like Guy, now that guys a douche.
|
Fieri has been at the Am Royal BBQ the last two years. Good guy
|
Guy F. is a total slob and a pig - but it's hard not to like his passion. Seems like a fun person.

Not everyone can be Julia Childs or Mario B. This dude is perfect for that market. |
Guy looks like a douche, but he's basically just a California "dude." I remember here in KC he highlighted Woodyard BBQ and Grinder's in the Crossroads district. I highly recommend both.
In St. Louis, he highlighted one of my favorite mom and pop restaurants called Iron Barley in South St. Louis. Great food and folks there. |
he's ok .. but that's just my thoughts .....
|
They've been to Swagger in KC down in Waldo. If you haven't been there, you should go. Home of the Waldo Trucker. I think that's why DD&D was there.
My favorite though is the Suribachi burger. The burger is cooked to order, then tempura battered and fried. With a Sriracha sauce and wasabi coleslaw on top. http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/896/7zya.jpg |

He's says the same shit at every place and he talks with his mouth full. **** him I will not watch that show. |

I got the triple d app on my phone and if I'm on a road trip sometimes I'll try one of the places.
|
I hate when he goes to a place I have been going for ever and ****s it up by letting the secret out and then I up waiting in line for a bunch of new people.

I prefer the Adam Richman productions, especially Amazing Eats. DDD's fine too but Adam's funnier.
|
There is a BBQ place near downtown Dallas in the farmers market that I had been meaning to try but turned up on that show and the lines now are ridiculous well over a year later.

One thing I've noticed from his show: No matter what kind of food it is, almost all these places put garlic in EVERYTHING.

It's my go to show when there is nothing else worth watching. I think Guy is entertaining for the most part, like to see what people are cooking and love the 69 Camaro.
|
I have a gmail account which is very similar to many others out there. So I get random emails meant for other people from time to time. Most recently I received some regarding Fieri's 46th birthday and them wanting me to RSVP for it. This is what I know it's in Santa Rosa CA on Jan. 18 and it's a Cannonball Run themed party. I'm crashing that bitch.
