The next step in the revolution: Full Page ads in the KC Star and Dallas paper
I propose we pool together for three full page ads in the KC Star Sports Section.
Page 1: A cleaned up, professional, appropriate version of the Matt Cassel Facts.
Page 2: A cleaned up, updated, professional, appropriate version of the Scott Pioli Facts.
Page 3: An open letter to Clark Hunt, stating our passion, loyalty, and struggles with the past decade of being a Chiefs fan. Beg him to make it right. Make reference to our having not drafted a QB, despite our obvious need to.
***If we pool enough money, run a full page of this in the Dallas Newspaper as well. Would be nice to stick it in Clark's backyard.***
In regards to the "Print is Dead" excuse - this idea is more about the coverage the ad gets than the ad itself.
Quote:
An ad is a whole page of text and facts.
If picked up by national media (it most certainly would); the ad itself serves as the press release for which the reporters will base their stories on. These stories will be put online, and links will be sent and it will go viral that way.
A billboard, if the story is picked up, makes for a cool image, with a short, yet blunt message. The reporters will be left to create their own opinions and I think the message will be lost when communicated to the masses.
I think that blunt image was already communicated via the airplane banner. The detailed ad is a different approach, with a different angle.
