Getting healthy

Just for fun, I decided to glance at the Chiefs injury report today:

Though there are a ton of guys on the list that are nicked up a bit, it's good to see that we're about as healthy as you can expect a team to be at this point (exempting our two broken TE's that is). Hopefully that's a good sign for tomorrow.

All 53 practiced Friday.

About time.

It's awesome we could rest Flowers for a week and not miss a beat.

We're so deep at safety, we could bench Lewis for a week, too. Get this team healthy as possible for Denver.

Albert, unfortunately, is just going to have to play through it. Wish that wasn't the case, but you can't trust either Fisher or Stephenson on the blind side right now.

Really, really, really need Fasano to step up.

I'd rest Flowers another week. Sean Smith can handle Andre Johnson.

Yeah, I'm really hopeful that Fasano will make a difference between blocking and catching. I kind of hope to see some two TE sets once in a while, but it may be a little early for that since McGrath wouldn't have been practicing them until this week most likely.

Eesh. Don't be so sure.

You know Flowers has this game circled on his calendar, too. After Andre Johnson beat him deep to beat the Chiefs last time these teams played.

Flowers is 110% competitor, and I can guarantee you he's been lobbying Sutton all week to have AJ on the island.

We were running two TE sets with McGrath/Brock.

I can guarantee that Fasano and McGrath will be on the field in 2 TE sets.

Were we? I didn't notice that.

In that case, I hope they're more frequent. :)

Watching Flowers jam AJ's pussy ass on the line will be fun.

Oh yeah. We didn't do it frequently though, given that both TEs are atrocious blockers (Brock especially), and Brock is just a terrible receiver (route running and hands).

The coaching staff and Smith trust Fasano and McGrath. I imagine with the edge rushers the Texans have (lackluster sack totals be damned), you'll see Fasano play all game, and McGrath very frequently.

Those two te sets with Fasano and Gonzo will be nice

Flowers makes a living poaching that one-step route, too. Reading the QB, then jumping the route.

I imagine the Texans will run more than a few of those to (ostensibly) give Keenum some easy completions to build up his confidence.

Flowers, DJ, and Cooper will live on that shit all day. I can almost predict another pick-six. If not two.

Kendrick Lewis doesn't need to practice because he doesn't need to play. Keep Demps in the backfield for him.
