I hate to admit it, but KnowMo is a little bit right here.

This will only really matter if A) It gets Manning hurt or B) he can't come back for the playoffs.

Granted, both of those things are possible, but Manning simply covers for a whole lot of mediocrity, even mediocrity at LT.

FFS, they're destroying legitimately good teams without Von Miller. The Bronco's are pretty goddamn good. They'll be pretty goddamn good without Clady as well.

But I do hope we get to take some cracks at ol' Bonehead without Clady in the lineup.

I think the Broncos are easily the class of the AFC and SB favs from this Conference, but I don't think the Giants and/or Ravens are really good teams right now.

The Ravens might get there, but I think the Giants are about due for an overhaul.

Titty Meat 09-16-2013 04:52 PM

Indeed. Manning won a superbowl with Tony Ugoh as the LT as I remember.

I think the Giants would pound the Ravens, to be honest.

The Giants have a hell of a lot of options through the air. The problem for them is that the Broncos, with DRC and Chris Harris as a slot CB (and eventually Champ as the other CB), not to mention coverage LBs out the wazoo, are built to play the Giants offense.

You can beat the Broncos with a power running game and a ball-control defense (I think the Niners and Seahawks are both tough matchups for them), but a pass-first team like the Giants with no credible ground game and a weak secondary is going to get exposed.

I agree.

The 9ers and Seahawks are just so physical, I'm hoping the Chiefs continue to be that way as well, but we aren't there yet.

To beat the Broncos, you've gotta be able to get pressure with 4 guys. You can't consistently blitz Manning, if you don't get there he'll kill you. If we are to control that offense, it's going to have to be with Poe, Houston, Hali and Bailey or whoever else in that spot.

I get the Fisher pick, but a set up with Poe, Richardson, Hali, and Houston rushing the passer could be pretty dynamic.

Knomo makes hating on the broncos fun

even for manning, that is a blow

O.city 09-16-2013 05:13 PM

While DJ is right, this does have a negative effect on the Broncos. This essentially takes a certain number of routes out of play for some of these wr's. There just won't be time for them to develop.

In the end, no one in the league has the back end to cover these wr's for that long. Pressure will have to beat the Broncos.

I was thinking the same thing about Richardson. We had the first pick overall and we pick a tackle when we already have a good one that isn't over the hill on the roster.

Sheldon already looks to be a dominate player in this league. I hope I would of been fine with Sheldon Richardson being picked in that slot.

Wow. Hali has got to be licking his chops.

TINK TINK TINK

That's the sound of injuries gradually chiseling away at the Donks. Next thing you know it will be one of their WRs, or even another LB or CB.

Until we get to Manning.

Whoever is playing LT will be allowed to hold to protect Peyton.

So long as he has those wideouts, it won't matter much who is playing left tackle. They will just throw more short timing patterns and make other other adjustments (screens, misdirecting and draws) to take the heat off the pass rush.

Hopefully, we can steal one of the games. We played them pretty close last year and are seemingly improved across the board since then.

J. Thomas has really come on at TE. They'll use him too.
