I have Adaptec with the LP feature(cleans up pops & hiss). I have a sound card as well.

My question is: What kind of turntable do I need to use?

I have usage of a JVC component turntable.
Do I need the entire system, or just the
turntable itself?

Thank You

Well, I am not sure exactly what you are asking, but I think I will give it a whirl. On your sound card there should be a mic input. You will probably have to get a converter that is an RCA to headphone jack. Just tell the guys at Radio Shack what you are doing and they can point you in the right direction. Once you have this handy little tool you can do 1 of 2 things. You can plug the sound card directly in to the turntable, or you can have the turntable plugged in to your receiver, and then plug your receiver in to the sound card. I suggest plugging the turntable directly in to the sound card because you won't have to set as many levels. Also, don't forget to ground your turntable, it will make a world of difference with the sound quality. If I am not mistaking, adaptec Easy CD Creator has a feature in which you can record directly from the mic input to a CD. If not, you will want to download a program that records .WAV files from the mic input, and then with your Easy CD Creator program, burn those .WAV files to your CD and they will play just fine in a CD player. Good luck! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif
