Remember that the Broncos struggled to beat us when we were at full strength at Arrowhead this year.

If we play our cards right this offeason, I see no reason why we can't be a threat to them for the division next year like the Colts were for the Texans.

Last place schedule with weak opponents, Reid knows how to play the entire NFC East and RG3 might not play against us and if he does he won't be mobile.

It also took an EPIC Rivers meltdown for the Peyton's to not get crushed by the Bolts in Eggo too.

speaking of tears:

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/column-...0572--nfl.html

its difficult to grasp the hopelessness that gets embedded into a player's mind after playing for the kansas city chiefs for 12 years. he must have felt like god hated him.

"If football is a cruel game, it had been even crueler to Gonzalez. No matter what he did, no matter how well he played, the end result always seemed to be the same."

for him winning a single playoff game was akin to winning a superbowl for most players.

the amount of misery that will be floating around this place will be surreal once you mullets realize reid's days of being a competent head coach are well behind him. LOL

He wanted to bet me $50 that the donks would win the bowl and I told him that if I was going to bet with him, he would have to put on his big boy pants and make it a real bet. I explained to him that $50 bets were for grade school boys, not to waste my time and if we were going to do this, he needed to step up and bet like a man, it worked.

We ended up making the bet for $250.00. He sent me a text after the game crying about the refs, but also said that he would have my money in hand at the start of business Monday. :)

$250 has been obtained from very disgruntled donk fan. This Monday was not so bad. :D

His arm strength is likely to get worse, not better. He's already having problems gripping the ball in the cold, and that's more likely to get worse than better, as well. The Ravens were able to expose things about his game that aren't likely to improve. The Chiefs should be much better next season. The Broncos are going to have to face the Patriots and Texans again, and both games will be on the road. The Mannings are also facing off, and that game's in New York.

It's possible that Manning has another top end season or two of winning 12+ games left, and maybe even a playoff run of more than one game is possible, but the odds are against it at this point.

Or am I the only one?

I couldn't bring myself to turn on the games today. I didn't even check scores.

I didn't want to hear about the draft, fantasy football, super bowl predictions, etc, so I've been hanging out with friends who don't like sports. I have zero interest in the championship games, much like the Super Bowl, which I'd definitely write off except that the parties are fun. Maybe I'll go and just talk with the sports-hating spouses.

I was not ready for this season to end. I knew it was a possibility, but just couldn't believe my eyes when that field goal went through.

couldn't watch football after that, spend all day Sunday with the wife and baby going shopping. Just this morning i found out who won the other games. I doubt i'll be watching much football for the rest of the season.

Saturday night I let the kids watch whatever they wanted after the game while I stewed over that pass play at the end of regulation. On Sunday I didn't want to get out of bed, but ended up getting up around nine because my back hurt. I checked scores, but spent the lion's share of the day with the wife and kids. I wont watch the championship games, maybe the Super Bowl, we'll see. Sorry, this just sucked. For me, might be the worse Denver loss going back to 1996 or even Super Bowl 24.

I learned this week that I could never be a talk radio host. I haven't really been listening much, but every time I've tuned in it's been the same basic points over and over and over and over and over again:

1. Fox is too conservative.
2. Peyton sucked in the cold.
3. Moore deserves to be shunned from society.
4. The refs screwed the Broncos.

I mean, I get why the topic is hot. It will be for a while. But I have no idea how you can do nothing but talk about those same four points day after day after day.

cheated? that video did the refs justice. the first pass interference call in particular. that was waaaaay to much contact after 5 yards, plus an arm bar on the receiver, both of which the refs look for.

Yup, and the video shows that Manning got the ball back into his body, even had 2 hands on it before he fumbled it.

Bitching about not get a PI on 3rd and 8 on a 2 yard dump pass where the guy is completely covered is funny as well. Champ was also holding the guys arm back while the ball was in the air, obvious PI.

It's not about getting the ball back into his body, its about re-establishing possession. Manning clearly did not. Touching the ball briefly with both hands before it slides down his leg does not constitute possession.

As far as Champ, what are you talking about? One hand is on his back, the other is out away from both of them batting at the ball. His right hand touches the receiver's arm before the ball is thrown, but it certainly doesn't keep the receiver from stretching his arm out.

Champs arm might end up in the air right before the ball gets there, but before that it has the other guys arm locked behind his back and actually causes his body to turn to the right. Easy call for the ref standing there.

Having two hands on the ball, and up against his body would constitute tucking, which makes it a fumble. It isn't a catch where he has to make a football move or show control while going to the ground.

I agree about the early contact, I can't tell if it's before or after the ball is thrown. The ref calls "cutoff" though. I don't see any arm bar, just Doss trying to run through Carter. Carter was even going for the ball. Shouldn't the CB be entitled to his space?

At this point I'm convinced that you haven't even watched it. The arm that's swatting at the ball never even touches the receiver. Neither of the receiver's arms ever go behind his back, let alone being locked there. I don't know what you are watching.

The ball has to stop moving in his hands at some point for him to have possession.

No PI when the corner hits the receiver early and holds his arm down is legit? No call on a leg whip? No call on nearly tackling the receiver well before the ball arrives? No call on kicker practicing kicks when the rulebook states that it is a 15 yard penalty? Those are all legit?

The ball has to stop moving in his hands at some point for him to have possession.

Watch at 10:12 in the video. In slow motion, you see the players hand to the right of Champ, then it is behind his back just to the inside of Champs left hip, and then he fights to free it and get it up. It all happens in that 1 second though, so you have to hit play/stop a bunch and really fast to see it.

But it could be that you need your glasses checked

I agree about the early contact, I can't tell if it's before or after the ball is thrown. The ref calls "cutoff" though. I don't see any arm bar, just Doss trying to run through Carter. Carter was even going for the ball. Shouldn't the CB be entitled to his space?

He is entitled to his space, but you are not allowed to put your shoulder in front ofthem to cut off a WR like that either. I believe there was some emphasis early on in the season that they were going to be calling that.

Ok, he does swing his arm behind his back for a split second. After which, he easily extends his hands out well before the ball arrives without any resistance from Champ. The ball bounces right off of that hand. I don't see any way that that could be called "locking his arm," or any way that that could have interfered with his ability to catch the ball.
