Question about ripping MP3s
I have been ripping my CD's over to MP3 with iTunes, and most songs are ripping over at 10-13x, which is plenty fast for me. I have noticed that processor utilization hangs at about 98% while it is ripping tracks. I know the CPU is doing all the compression, but wow, didn't think it would take 98% of a P4 2ghz. Just curious if ripping MP3s will pretty much eat up all the processor you have (for you guys with the hotrod systems)?

No way....use Cdex.

ripping the music from cd to the computer doesn't take that much.
but converting that file to mp3 will take up all of the cpu time it can get. no matter how fast your cpu is your computer might rip and encode at the same time. this is normal |
I thought itoons was MP4's?
