Actually I kind of like this thing. Most of the time when I drive its only me in there and this way I never have to give anybody rides. Never have to be DD or be the least drunkest guy to drive home. And also you get to stand out as one goofy sob

Or commuters. Something like that would save me somewhere around $100/month on gas. I'd have to be convinced it was safe to get too excited about it, but I can see it gaining some traction as gas prices continue to climb in the coming years.

The problem is that it's really hard to say that because this is classified as a motorcycle. That's a plus for designers because they don't have to meet things like stringent crash test rules. For MPG that matters because they can save significant weight. Now 84 MPG sounds like a good deal when compared to a car, but compared to a motorcycle it's not really a huge leap.

It's a trike, and you'll have to get a Motorcycle license to drive one(at least in most places today). Insurance will also be motorcycle insurance. But the plus is motorcycle MPG and the ability to use carpool lanes by yourself in some states.

Realistically this isn't a terribly novel concept they've tried to market a bunch of trikes in the past few years to make riding less intimidating and 'easier' but none of them have really taken off.

Reminds me of the Carver or Venture One that was being developed a few years ago. The Venture One was a hybrid supposed to seat two and get 100 MPG. It worked on a Carver-like chassis.
