F Dodge in the A

Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to design a car where you have to take half the front end apart to change a ****ing headlight?

All that and I still could not get the headlight bulb changed because the damn headlight would not come out!!!

Really guys... something that burns out like clock work should be much more easily accessible than this. It's a ****ing joke.

I will never again buy a Dodge Stratus.

You shouldn't need to pull the whole headlight out to change the bulb, you should be able to access it from the engine compartment.

CoMoChief 10-22-2009 11:49 PM

Did you make sure there was enough head light fluid in the lighting chamber?

One would think that would be the case. Had anyone other than a brain damaged moron designed this, I would agree with you. Apparently Dodge hires middle school drop outs to design the front end of their vehicles.

Huh, that's strange. I haven't ran across that in any of the Dodges I have now or any in the past. Although now that I think about it, I seem to recall having to do something like that in the wife's old Camry, but I'm not sure if it was the headlight bulb or the side marker light I had to replace. I remember having to pry with quite a bit of force to get the headlight out, enough so that I was worried about breaking the damn thing, that sucker was in there tight.

Wait until you get a flat tire. Yuo've got to drop the transmission just to change the damn thing.

I hope you dont wonder why they are always filing for bankruptcy

My problem exactly.

I think that the manual is generic because mine only has 2 clips. Even then I managed to destroy all the plastic around the clip trying to get the damn thing out and it would not budge.

I tried just yanking on the headlight and got it to come out part way but was afraid to pull much harder because I thought I would break something.

Dodge can kiss my ass.

The only time I drove a Dodge I didn't get the chance to drop the transmission. The car dropped it for me.

It's my wife's car.

Bugeater 10-23-2009 12:23 AM

WTF is that supposed to mean Hamas?

Anyway, I was doing some poking around on some Dodge forums, and it looks like I'll have to go through a similar ordeal to change the headlight bulb in my Dakota. At least I'll know ahead of time to set aside a couple hours to do it when the time comes.
