DVD Burning ?

I need to go buy some blank DVD's. Is there any thinG I need to know about what type to buy for my CD-RW Combo Drive? The drive is a Memorex DVDRW 2.4x8AA-W

Erm...i'm really not sure what drive that is. Is it a DVD-R or DVD+R?

Personally if its a 2.4x i'd buy a newer drive. They have 16x drives out now...

It's a DVD+R/+RW and ya I know it's slow but it was cheap. I'm pretty new to this DVD burning stuff
, I got it new for $35 with 4 blank disks. I just don't know what kind of disk they were. I guess what I'm asking is, will any blank DVD disk work in this thing?

The invoice says it's a 2.4x8AA 24xDVD+R/+RW

If you are looking to make movie backups then you will use either DVD + ir - R's. Id start with looking up what media type will work with your dvd player. Some of them wont read +R discs.

And what then check which ones your burner likes:

Miles,

I've used TONS of cheap DVD's and they work fine -- I have one of the old Pioneer model DVD burners.

Here's a link to check out -- www.meritline.com -- with a company I've had luck with.

I always buy name brand media. The cheaper stuff might work fine now, but they get scuffed and scratched much easier. I'd rather pay the extra few cents and get something made in Japan, and not China or Korea.

Thanks for the help fellas
