I really like that kid. I think he can be a good starter.

As for just breaking down ( analyzing formations both offensive/defensive, D&D, situations in the ball game through 3 games, USC, Louisville, and Mizzou (I've watched more but haven't broken them down. Have time tomorrow so I'll probably do it then) I've been remarkably impressed.

Things I like having not broken down a lot of games:
Very quick, snappy release. Might be the best in the draft.
Solid arm strength
Great movement within the pocket whilst keeping his eyes downfield

Things I don't like:
Happy feet, it seems to me like he's trying to overemulate Manning too much. It negates his accuracy on deeper routes.
Lack of touch consistently. You'll see it but it isn't at the regularity especially on deep throws ala Geno/Wilson. There are some that are solid but I'd regard him as inconsistent in that area.

I'll be able to provide a better breakdown hopefully by tomorrow. I really love Nassib's ability to move/reset/shrug rushers within the pocket. I also like that he consistently looks downfield.

I agree. His Mizzou tape was fantastic IMO. If there is a guy who I want us to take at 34 (or move up in the 25-32 range), it's him.

Just finished watching the Rutgers tape.

Prelimary thoughts: Struggled with pressure from DBs (could also be a protection issue, there is one instance where a LG completely missed on a twist whilst the LT and RB picked up the blitz) but overall, wasn't bad. Missed a few throws but was mainly consistent and led them on a nice drive that could have potentially tied it up only to be plagued by drops (in coverage; NFL Wrs probably make the catch but IIRC Lemon was jacked on one of them).

It's beyond stupid to throw out Wilson's tape from this year. There are some solid things he did and some not so solid plays. To completely discount the negatives or both is just ****ing dumb.

I didn't completely throw it out. Again, I compared Geno's 2012 tape to Wilson's 2011 tape. I compared the best of both of them. I'm not discounting anything.

O.city 01-19-2013 09:09 AM

My problem with nassib is for him to be successful and them to win games this year, they had to pull the reins on him and make him a game manager. I like his upside, but he would take a good amount of polishing before he was even close.

Pasta Little Brioni 01-19-2013 09:10 AM

Screw Nassib when we can have take a better QB with our first pick. No need to dance around it.

ChiefMojo 01-19-2013 09:53 AM

I'd rather have Dysert than Nassib personally if we are going 2nd round with no Geno/Wilson.

RealSNR 01-19-2013 10:50 AM

Nassib has a ****ing stupid name. What country is that from? ****tardistan?

Pasta Little Brioni 01-19-2013 10:51 AM

So, we can have the best QB in the draft, but we are going to settle for number 4 or 5. Jeez, that would be stupid.

I like Nassib, but the fact that he couldnt beat out that focktard basketball player from Duke (Paulis?) who went to play 1 year for Cuse is a little bit scary...

Wilson owns best footwork of the three. Geno's very long w/ elongated footwork & throwing delivery but can throw a strike with best of em

I see the elongated footwork, and when he gets that fixed, his passes wil leave a trail, much like a comet.

His arm strength is very good, even with the elongated step, or the throws off the back foot.

I don't, however see the longated delivery.

He has as quick a release as any.

I hate Haiku.

Most useless and stupid form ever.

This is better.

There once was a coach named Reid
He said that you don't draft for need.

But when they fully evaluate this guy
They will then know to take him high

And future Championships they will seed.

Well played. Sure you can't get a Nantucket on there somehow?

So people are knocking Geno's abilities?? With those stats?? Is he suppose to complete 100% of his passes with Zero INTs??

Geno is better than any QB we have had on this team since Montana. Chiefs have to take him. We have had some of the worst QB's to ever play the last few years.

Not sure how we could pass on him?? He won't be there in the second round.

It would be great to see the Donks stuck with old man mangina- choking in the Playoffs and we have a new Stud for QB for once. Donks would love to see Geno fall to them.

Speaking of Rutgers, I'm watching that film right now. Our 2nd round draft pick and future starter at CB is on that team, Logan BAMF Ryan.

Would it be worth it to have spinoff threads that attempt to discredit Joeckel, Star, etc? Thinking we could GIF them up and send links to media members. Just trying to think outside the box in an effort to prevent the Chiefs from finding a way to screw this up.

wazu 01-19-2013 03:42 PM

Of course that's assuming there is some way to discredit those players.

Red Dawg 01-19-2013 03:43 PM

The hot thing in the NFL is a QB that's mobile and ACCURATE. Russell Wilson can thread a needle, so can RG3.

Tajh Boyd is about as accurate as Mike Vick, and that's not a good thing.

My son keeps asking me if they are going to draft Smith.

I keep telling him I don't know, but I'm hopeful.

He says, "Are they afraid?" I said, Maybe.

He says, "The only mistake is not trying".

He's 14. Chip off the ol' block. :)

Agreed. With what Cam,RGIII, Luck and Wilson have accomplished in just a short amount of time I don't see how Geno falls to the 2nd with many starved QB teams like us, especially when you look at his stats with a crappy D always playing from behind which should have shown a much higher INT total but didn't which is absolutely amazing.
