The days the team doesnt play count as a day off. So technically, its not that bad yet.

Not as a catcher. I would be fine with them subbing him as a DH for a day off once a week behind the plate.

Perez needs a day off in the worst way and last night would have been the perfect game to do it. Shields can call his own game. Now you look at having him off when Chen pitches on Thursday if they even give him that.

Probably not a good idea for a guy who's 0 for 22 or whatever to be the DH.
