Stop, guys.

Stop, or he and his mom will shoot.

Al Bundy 09-30-2013 07:38 AM

Throw Patrick Peterson in the argument as well.

Lzen 09-30-2013 07:55 AM

Talib is very, very good. But he's not the best CB in the league. At least not yet. And what is the deal with him introducing himself as from north Dallas something? :cuss:

He dominated Julio Jones. Therefore Big 12 > SEC. /SaulIdiot

Amnorix 09-30-2013 08:11 AM

I think he's top 5, certainly, but would definitely take Sherman and, if healthy, Revis over him, not much doubt about it.

Don't remember saying anything like that...of course Julio was "dominated" to the tune of 108 yards receiving plus another 38 on a PI call. 146 combined yards for Jones...translates to 2,336 yards over a full season...not bad for being dominated.

Not all of that was on Talib. Not like Talib had him the whole game.

In fact, Talib did NOT have him on the long bomb down the left sideline during the final drive. That was Dennard/McCourty.

Looked to me like Talib handled him great WHEN he was on him.

The Patriots were also keeping a safety above Jones for almost the entire game. It was reminiscent of how they defended Fitzgerald last season.

Saul is a moron who obviously didn't watch the game or see Julio's 50 yarder late was not even against Talib. Don't bother explaining details to him.

So...you're trying to bolster your contention that Talib dominated Jones by saying that Talib wasn't matched up against Jones?

kepp 09-30-2013 09:03 AM

McGrath would own him.

I'm not sure it's an SEC thing but there does seem to be a tread of severely underperforming players from the SEC recently.

Tebow, Eli Manning, AJ Green, Julio Jones.

While most of the big stars: Adrian Peterson, Jamaal Charles, Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson, Tom Brady, Russel Wilson etc seem to be coming from the Big 12, Pac 10 and Big 10...

NBC posted a graphic on it. I believe Jones was targeted 8 times while Talib was covering him, for 1 completion and 1 INT.
