Unique keeper question
Standard scoring, standard roster composition. We can keep 1 player each year, either a rookie or anyone drafted after round 10. First year they count as your 18th (last round) rounder. Each subsequent year, if you keep the same guy the round he belongs to is cut in half : 18/9/4/2/1.
I have Andrew Luck as in the 18th as my best keeper on the roster today. However, I have the opportunity to trade for CJ Spiller, and he'd count as my 9th rounder. I'd give up my 3rd rounder for his 4th rounder (serpentine draft). Worst case he and I have the 1st and 2nd picks and I lose 18 spots between rounds. Best case is we have picks 9 and 10 and I barely lose. We won't know draft order until right before the draft. He has RGIII as his backup keeper.
Is it worth it to trade a 3rd for a 4th to get Spiller in the 9th? I think yes.
