MNF. Did you see the Dale Carter hit?

That caused the fumble in the kick return. Man! Could Carter be back to his old self after all these years?

Rain Man 10-31-2005 09:32 PM

It's amazing that he's still playing. This is his 14th year in the league.

Interesting Dale Carter stats:

Chiefs - 7 seasons (1992-1998) 401 tackles, 21 interceptions, and 6 forced fumbles (not to mention two punt return touchdowns)

Average: 57.3 tackles, 3 interceptions, 1.2 fumble returns

Other teams - 7 seasons (1999-2005) - Broncos (2 seasons, one of which was a full-year suspension), Vikings (1 season), Saints (2 seasons), Ravens (2 seasons, counting this one) - 163 tackles, 3 interceptions, 0 forced fumbles

Average (over the five full active non-suspended seasons): 32.6 tackles, 0.6 interceptions, 0 forced fumbles

It seems like we let him go at exactly the right time.

Dale Carter/James Hasty

Didn't we use Dale Carter as a WR at one point as well?

HolmeZz 10-31-2005 09:39 PM

Your sig sucks.

Rain Man 10-31-2005 09:41 PM

He returned punts, played CB, lined up at WR, returned some kickoffs, and even has a couple of career rushing attempts (probably on reverses, I bet).

If he had remained with one team, kept himself in shape, and not had the off-field issues, he could have been a legitimate Hall of Fame candidate.

If he had maintained his pace for the Chiefs over the past seven years, he'd be an 8-time pro bowler with 42 interceptions.

If he's his old self I doubt the hit would be on a kick return.

Brock 10-31-2005 09:43 PM

He probably still is his old drunken assaulting asshole self.

What's up with your sig? Trent Green should be one of the last guys to pin the SD loss on. Carr wouldn't have done better at all; watch how he's playing with no pass protection right now in Houston. I'm all for Carr ressurecting himself in KC, but Green is our man right now, and can continue to be.

14 years in the league is pretty impressive but doesn't that get him 2nd place tonight. I see Deion Sanders is suited up at age 38.

Indeed. Dale is 35, Deion is 38.

Deion took some time off to do TV so I don't know how many years he has in the league.

Green has only 2 years max and I like to see us go after Carr since he becomes a UFA in 2006. Please don't jump to the notion that I want Green out of KC in 2006. Can you imagine how bad KC can be if Green were to go down with injury? He's going to be 37 next year.

I'm with you on getting a young QB with real talent, but the "Carr would have shredded the SD defense" comment irked me.
