What to do in Boston in 1 hour?
 

I'm in Hartford, CT for work and will be driving to Manchester, NH tomorrow to another one of our offices. I will have enough time to pass through Boston and spend an hour, maybe two, depending on how early I leave.

How can I best spend my time? Any can't miss attractions?

I was thinking of doing a tour of Fenway. I always wanted to go to a game there but probably can't fit it in on my schedule.

I would think that would be more time consuming

It says on the web site that the tours are 1 hour in length.

1) Wear at least one piece of clothing to represent each of the four major teams in the Boston area.
2) Walk around town with a self-entitled, douchey expression on your face for 59 minutes and yell "Boston Strong!" every 5 minutes.
3) Punch yourself in the dick.

I'll have to look this place up when I'm out there next. We went to the Sunset Grill and Tap. Really enjoyed it.

To the OP I would say with that little time I'd just walk around downtown for a bit and find some fresh seafood. Downtown Boston is pretty sweet.

Punch as many Pats fans in the face as possible.

Order some of their beans, then take a big dump in the bowl.

I hear that there are some historical sites there.

Have a tea party.

Good luck getting anywhere in an hour. Most confusing city I've ever driven in, although that was back in the dark days before GPS.

unless you have a few hours to burn, don't bother heading into boston. The traffic is ****ing terrible 24 hours a day and theres no way you'll make it into the city and out in an hour. I'd say if you have an hour to burn stop at one of our many fine gentlemens clubs in providence. traffic is better and in RI its full nude.

that being said, if you really want to go into boston, id hit up jerry Remy's sports bar and grill. Its literally right across the street from fenway park and its a great atmosphere. but be prepared to spend up to 30 bucks to park and walk about a mile because parking in boston is scarce. Usually when I go to boston I take the train, but obviously that's not an option for you so, good luck anyway.

Sit in traffic and call it a day.

I was there about a year ago and even with gps it was a friggin' nightmare. And if you are driving you should have at least $10 in quarters handy for all the different tolll roads and bridges you encounter...

Yeah, I didn't think it would have improved at all. I just felt I should qualify my remark somewhat, since I haven't been there since 1987.

Traffic wasn't bad at all. I got into town around 10 am. Ended up doing the Fenway tour. Parked for free right next to the stadium.

It was pretty cool. Glad I had time to do it.
