I was watching NFL Access and saw the clip where W. Payton pays tribute to J. Delaney

This was in the locker room after Payton broke the record for most yards rushed. In his speech he mentioned players he respected who would never get the chance he did to break the record because of their sudden death. Players like Delaney and Brian Piccolo, etc... I never knew this. What a class act Payton was.

I saw that last night also. It was a nice display of respect by Payton.

Players today should look back at what it was like to actually be a REAL man. Not saying "look at me look at me" all the time.

To take the time away from your personal accomplishments to acknowlege those who came before you or never had a real chance shows charecter. Something that a lot of athletes lack these days.

You've got to like the players who recognize both the history of the game and their own good fortune in being able to play it.

We can't all wake up in a random car drunk not knowing where we were last night.
