That's dumb. People already have a tough time remembering that the draft is the last full weekend in April. They're going to be clueless when it moves to May.

The wait between the combine and the draft is already too goddamn long.

Baseball is in full swing, people are focused on the end of school and summer.

Why doesnt the draft rotate cities? or the combine for that matter?

I think it would help drive interest in markets where the NFL needs interest driven - future expansion cities, cities where game attendance is down really low, etc... They could sell tickets, too.

Just seems dumb to have it in those places "just cuz." **** tradition, make money and drive brand interest.

Interesting move. That period of time is also when a lot of TV shows are ending their seasons.

Oh good, add another month of BS and hype to endure befor the actual draft.

Let the kids and their families enjoy being drafted and making the transition to their new cities before they have to attend rookie mini-camps. Roger sees this as an extra month of draft hype revenue. I'm sure the nflnetwork will have a series of QB camp, CB camp, OL camp, DL camp etc.

Piss of the tv networks during their sweeps period by throwing the draft and its huge ratings in, I'm sure CBS, NBC, and FOX will be thrilled by that.

My minor league idea would work perfect now March-Early May schedule, have the championship game the Saturday night of the draft. It would keep the football fix going.

Or the Super Bowl.

I really don't get why the NFL doesn't understand the value of marketing to places outside of New York. We need our next commissioner to be from a region outside the Northeast.

The draft should be in late February. Most NFL personnel say most draft boards are already finished before the combine. Having the draft start before free agency makes a lot of sense to me. It would make free agency a lot more interesting.

I'm a little surprised teams will be happy losing a month for the draft picks to learn the playbook.

There have been rumors about this for months. The reasoning given was to span more of the year with NFL interest, now Goodell comes out with this BS about an Easter show. Total BS, Easter 2014 is Sunday, April 20th. The draft would have fallen on April 24th - April 26th next year following the traditional schedule.

I've been to the draft twice. There's no reason they couldn't get that set up and ready to go in three days.

Well that should give us several more weeks to look at the draft board and not take a quarterback.

So that's nice.

Godell is in it to make the NFL a ton of cash. If it meant moving the Draft to Wednesday at 10am for a load of cash to be made, he'd do it.

Nah, this is aaaaaaaaaaaaaaall about getting even higher TV ratings because typically May is a big sweeps month and they figure they can do even better because the stats show that between the 8th-17th would make them more $$.

20 week season with 18 games, eliminate 2 of the pre-season games, push everything back into mid-February when there is nothing else going on sports wise, move draft to May...profit.

Dumb is dumb. People that are going to the TPC and spend all day there aren't going to want to come home and watch the draft. Though they might have it on while they sleep. This is just for Jacksonville though.

As sorry as this offseason, since the draft, has been, I have reconsidered my initial response to this news, which was "WTF was wrong with Goodell?"

But with this move, we can still argue options in the draft for another month at least, and debate the merits of picks into June.

Maybe then we won't get stupid ****ing roasts, and who would you let **** your sister threads.
