We overpaid for Smith and now we're going to trade a top 10 LT for a 2nd (if reports are true) and then turn around and spend the no 1 pick on another LT.

We don't know that we paid to much for Alex Smith until the games are played. If he's putting up a 100 QB rating like he has the last 2 years then what we gave isn't to much at all IMO. After all it is the most valuable position on the field.

He only gave up one sack all year.

If he's not top ten, he's damn close.

He has been highly effective the last two years and wants market value and to be allowed to continue to play the position he has played for us the last 5 years.

I can't see how they think the team is improved by replacing Albert (who is entering his prime) with a rookie that is coming from a spread offense and only getting a late second for our own
