Front Panel Headphone Jack No Worky On New Build

Sound from monitor is fine. Rear panel jack gives mono sound.
No sound at all from front panel.
Z170-A mobo.
I've googled searched, messed with sound controller, reinstalled RealTek, then disabled RealTek, watched Tom's Hardware, can't get it to work.
Pretty sure it's hooked up right.

???

That doesn't sound assuring enough. Probably should look again.

I had an old set up where I was plugging in the line for the front audio port correctly, but it didn't work if I didn't plug it in in a way where the text on that plug in was facing the opposite direction than the rest of the plugs. Computers can be weird in that way sometimes.

Probably not connected to the mobo correctly. Check the mobo pin diagram again, and make sure everything is correct.

Ive had similar issues with a windows 10 computer.....

Have you checked the playback devices setup, to see if it's been disabled?

My two guesses:

A. Not connected to the MoBo correctly. Those front panel connectors can sometimes be a bit tricky.

B. Issue with the wiring/connection on the case itself. I've never had a DOA part before, but i read about it happening quite frequently.

Not hooked up~

Gracias all.

I'll check the mobo hookup. Thaks for the diagram Fish.

Yeah Detox I messed with the playback devices setup for a good long while to no avail.

Always re-seat your cards bro.

Na. You are probably good there since the card is functional. I'd go with the connections. Small little plugs, easy to cross up. But that doesn't explain the mono out of the rear. Check your speaker connection for that, which I'm sure you already looked at.

Or the card is bad...

make sure there is nothing conflicting like a mic

I ensured the connection to the mobo was tight.
Uninstalled/reinstalled Realtek drivers.
Went into bios and changed from digital sound to AC97.
Still no worky.

In the Sound Control panel there is no headphones icon as a playback source option.
I"m trying to think what it could be other than a mobo fail and am running out of ideas on what to try???

Have you looked at all the physical connections ? Not just at the mobo, but make sure the where the case wiring runs everything is connected etc?
