Why is it that after every game/loss, each thread ends up in a Grbac discussion???????
Just wondering

Play calling was the key ingredient to the loss today. HANDS DOWN!!
HC_Chief 09-10-2000 05:57 PM

I was wondering the same thing. In my 'three words' post, I mentioned Grbac -- but placed absolutely no blame for the past two losses upon him. The Grbackers/bashers picked up on the mentioning of his name instantly... disregarding the rest of the post. Selective criticism I guess... http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/wink.gif

It makes me laugh, although I do find great info. from both sides.

I wonder which side I lean toward?????

CASHMAN 09-10-2000 05:59 PM

I'd say it's going to be a reoccuring nightmare on Chiefs' BBs until he's gone... be it next year or 5 years down the road...

97/98 just locked the whole damn Grbac/Gannon debate into a lot of people's minds and it has just grown and spun off into similar tangents...

HC_Chief,

I don't know if I'm one of those that did trhat or not...

I am simply extremely upset with Raye and Schottenheimer right now.

I thought all of the players had good games. I think this team is capable of being a champion. I think the players played their hearts out.

And I think that our OC and DC couldn't have done a better job of loosing this game if they tried.

Luz
not sure they didn't; maybe they're getting payed off...

HC_Chief 09-10-2000 06:04 PM

Cash - that is one of the problems I have with Elvis -- Jimmy obviously is clueless... he puts the O in bad situations. When Elvis approaches the l.o.s., he should notice the fact that the D is stacked heavily against the run - and CHANGE THE PLAY! Audible a pass once in a while for crissakes! Better yet, call your own plays! The coaching staff is obviously clueless - if Elvis were to take charge, I'd be the biggest Grbacker of them all! I know that might get him in some trouble, but damn... anything is better than this! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Right now, I see him as a servicable QB that gets the job done when everything goes right; when things break down however, he tends to make mistakes.

Luz - I feel your pain brah'! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif The players did play their guts out -- too bad our coaches let them down... again.

If the Grbac debate is still locked into some people's minds, perhaps they need bigger minds.

Grbac played VERY well today.

Let him throw the ball and win a few games for us!... http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/mad.gif

Luz
elvis doesn't need to be leashed...

HC_Chief 09-10-2000 06:11 PM

I still can't believe we ran three times up Grunny's arse with THREE MINUTES left! I turned to my gf right before the first play of that pathetic series & predicted the outcome of the game!!! No s__t! Man, that is sad...

milkman 09-10-2000 06:16 PM

The fact that we never see Elvis audible leads me to wonder, does Raye's offense have audible options in it? The QB in the Rams offense under Raye seemed to have the same problem, if my memory serves me.
Elvis played a good game. The receivers played a good game. The defense played outstanding. The coaching sucked arse.

EG was 13-21 - 61.9%

47,

I think it's because being the QB is a lot like being President. You get the blame when things go wrong and the credit when things go right, regardless of whether you had anything to do with it or not.

I thought Elvis had a hellava game today. Too bad he didn't have someone calling plays who also had a hellava game.

Everyone has spent the last couple of years with that discussion, why would anyone stop now?

ck_IN 09-10-2000 07:00 PM

As for EG ignoring Rayes playcalling consider this analogy:

Your boss is an idiot. He tells you to do idiotic things. You do them. Why? Because he pays you and if you don't he'll replace you with someone else who will do those idiotic things.

It aint EG. At least not for these first two games. It's squarely the coaches. Including Gun.
