Louie

Anyone catch it? The new . . . sitcom? from Louis C.K.

The end of his date in the pilot was one of the most absurd [in a good way] scenes in recent memory. Plenty of chuckles. Recommended.

tymania 07-01-2010 08:16 AM

i forgot to watch it.. i am hoping they show a replay this weekend or before next weeks episode.. i loved his HBO series Lucky Louie... absolute comedy

KcMizzou 07-01-2010 10:10 PM

I read about this, but I missed it. It's on FX right?

I'm a fan.

TrickyNicky 07-01-2010 10:33 PM

I thought it was very good, almost a perfect translation of his standup and humor into a "sitcom."

Probably doomed.

Buck 07-01-2010 11:25 PM

WTF. 27 Dresses has been playing all nogh on FX here. Am I getting trolled?

Nevermind. Durr

Demonpenz 07-01-2010 11:28 PM

he sucked in concert when I saw him. Git-r-done dude was better

Ebolapox 07-02-2010 12:52 AM

louis ck is one of the funniest people alive. hope his show doesn't get 'arrested development'd'

blaise 07-02-2010 07:34 AM

I like him as a stand up, so I'll check it out. I didn't like his old Lucky Louie show though. It just never really made me laugh. I kept feeling like they were trying to hard and I didn't really care for the supporting cast.

KevB 07-02-2010 12:18 PM

It was good, although my expectations were so high I was slightly let down. Several hilarious scenes though, with the bathroom, the old neighbor and the helicopter being highlights.

noa 07-08-2010 01:59 PM

I really liked the last episode. Gervais was hilarious, although they may have hammered that note just a bit too long.

I cracked up at the riff on Indian givers.

Sofa King 07-08-2010 02:31 PM

I watched part, it was pretty meh IMO..

keg in kc 07-08-2010 02:37 PM

First couple of episodes were hilarious. Last night's didn't work for me. Although even on an off night, Louis CK's shit is funnier than 99.9% of "comedy" on television. Hope somebody other than me is watching so there's more than one season.

Jilly 07-08-2010 02:38 PM

man, I think it's brilliant.....just the right part of intelligence vs. comedy.

Brock 07-09-2010 12:06 PM

This, yes this, Reaper, is the funniest show on television something like 3 episodes in.

Demonpenz 07-09-2010 02:36 PM

It reminds me of like an art piece kind of thing, some of the scenes remind me of the movie Garden state just lonely flashbacks

keg in kc 07-13-2010 10:44 PM

Now that was some funny shit. Whole episode built around sex and death.

jiveturkey 07-14-2010 06:55 AM

I agree, best episode yet.

BigMeatballDave 07-14-2010 12:15 PM

I'm loving this show so far...

Fish 07-15-2010 12:05 PM

Didn't hurt the last episode that it had two of my favorite chicks out there.

Oh, and was Cannivale a one off, or is he getting a regular gig on the show. It was weird just seeing him in a crowd.

DMAC 07-19-2010 03:14 PM

Caught this last night. Loved it.

It has a very Larry David feel to it.

Louie is a great show. Why is it Showtime and FX seem to have the best shows nowadays?

Skiing, fighting and blowing guys.

BigMeatballDave 08-19-2010 08:37 PM

Another good one. What a bitch that chick was. Funny thing is, women ACTUALLY act that way. And they wonder why we think they're crazy...

Baby Lee 08-26-2010 08:53 AM

Suck a dick, son.

Dunno if Louie or Jerry did it better. Jerry was more subtle 'I think I was tucked.' Louie was more . . . visual.

Hi! How'd you like to have sex with me and wish you hadn't later?

Reaper16 08-28-2010 05:29 PM

My DVR-less ass finally found the time to watch this show today. I watched all ten episodes so far straight through and I wish there were more. Fantastic stuff.

keg in kc 08-31-2010 10:39 PM

Holy shit, that was one of the most epically ****ed-up half hours of television I've ever seen. WTF was that?! ROFL

Thig Lyfe 09-01-2010 01:03 AM

Aw shit, I missed tonight's episode. Last week's was ****ing amazing.

Reaper16 09-01-2010 07:52 AM

Tom Noonan is the best.

BigMeatballDave 09-01-2010 12:58 PM

That was kind of a WTF episode there.

Skyy God 09-01-2010 03:23 PM

I sort of thought this was only a 6 episode season. Good to know I was mistaken.

TrickyNicky 09-20-2010 05:36 PM

Just went to see Louis at the Midland here in KC. I literally had trouble breathing a couple of times, I was laughing so hard. My stomach is going to feel like I did 100 situps tomorrow. Dude is just freakin' hilarious, money very well spent.

Thig Lyfe 10-10-2010 10:24 PM

I wish I could have gone to see him live.

he was pretty good, as was the opening act.

ZootedGranny 10-11-2010 01:17 PM

I was also at the Midland, and had a great time.

I think "Word" is his best set since his HBO One Night Stand set from 2005.

The donut bit was hilarious

Reaper16 10-11-2010 04:13 PM

Streaming on Netflix now, in case someone out there hasn't seen it.

noa 11-04-2010 09:25 PM

Just got back from seeing him live. It was amazing. Second time I've seen him live, and both times were awesome. There were several times during the show when my wife had to make sure I was going to be ok because I was having crazy laughing fits.

For the other people who have seen Louis' Word tour, did he do the "Goodbye Jews" bit?

I dont think I would ever pay money to see him do stand up. I honestly don't think he is extremely funny. but his show Louie is ****ing brilliant. I swear that guy says exactly what I'm thinking...just in a funnier way.

His Stand-up owns. I like his show, but his Stand-up is better.

noa 12-13-2010 09:46 PM

Just got back from a taping for Louie Season 2. It was just an hour and a half of him doing stand up at the Comedy Cellar (that club with the brick-wall background from the show). It was awesome. About 60% of it was material from his recent tour, 25% was newer stuff, and 15% was him just improvising and riffing on random thoughts.
He definitely has some good material for Season 2.

In case some of you missed it, this video is from Leno the other night with Louie C.K. and for what it's worth is pretty funny. He talks about the last time he smoked pot and riffs on KC a bit.

LOL, his facial expression during that scene was great. He was all like "okay, what about me" until she finally started sobbing.

There are alot of times I laugh at Louie CK because I don't know what emotion I am really feeling. Like the part when he is spanking that girl and she is crying. IDK how to feel about that, I am really not confortable laughing but I don't know what else to do.

ususally they don't throw I guess Cookie jokes in there, I am glad they threw the LOUIS C.K/MASTERBATER Tag when he was on TV.

LOUIS C.K. Is the man, I think the cum drentched wings could use a rewrite to go more in the wheel house of the regular dude

Demonpenz 08-12-2011 10:06 AM

I understand LOUIS CK the people who watch his show and his comedy are fans of his and they are going to yuck it up, but the comedian in me was like. The average joe or ma'am off the street isn't going to yuck it up at such filth. Get it right in that sweet spot where everyone can laugh at it. Thats why it is a pain in the ass for me to watch any comedies. I just want to rewrite the jokes to fit what is funny to me LMAO

I know that you're trying to 'penz us right now, but I do want to make this point: the average joe or ma'am here at ChiefsPlanet isn't smart enough to get your humor. There's a strong corollary between people who love Louis CK and people who get and love your posting style.

Demonpenz 08-12-2011 05:04 PM

yeah bald head red goatee LOUIS CK come from the same part of the brain for sure. I am just glad when the show hits on a couple levels, because I feel bad when there isn't a cookie for normal folks
