LVMPD Body Cam 07/11/18

Intense car chase that ends with shots fired....for the record these are murder suspects.

Simply Red 07-16-2018 08:16 PM

I gathered it's not - but holy shit that was intense.

No, I work in Denver.

Hamwallet 07-16-2018 08:19 PM

Yikes. That cop is a badass!

Hoopsdoc 07-16-2018 08:19 PM

Damn, that was INTENSE. Hard to tell, but it looked like they shot the driver up pretty good.

Is it SOP for cops to shoot through their own windshield like that?

Weirdly enough, I'd never seen it [or frankly thought about it] before a week or so ago, and this is the second YT in a week to show it.

This is why we always carry an AR-15 in the cab. Better range, control, and penetration (through glass if need be), with 25-30 rounds between reloads.

Great job getting through an awkward, bad-timing reload while maintaining cover, then getting off the X and taking different cover.

Well done.

If it means stopping the threat do it. The danger these guys presented to the community far outweighed the danger of shooting through the windshield.

Yeah, I was thinking a tac reload was in order after the 2nd 4 round burst.

Neither have I.

When the cop pulled up alongside I thought, that dude in the passenger seat is gonna light him up.

I thought the same thing when he’s just sitting there reloading with his door open, 10 feet from the perps car.

That stuff takes some man sized balls.

Simply Red 07-16-2018 08:29 PM

This cop should win some sort of departmental award for his bravery and determination. That was really slick, he carried out good pursuit even with his driving skills. Well done sir!

2010 West Memphis police shooting.

Game warden shot through his own windshield with his rifle at some "sovereign citizens" who murdered 2 officers.

Granted, not during a moving pursuit, but still.

Simply Red 07-16-2018 08:31 PM

Here's the article - looks like he made his shots count.

Sorce 07-16-2018 08:35 PM

Looks like this is the story.
