"Bad tunes

Yes, everybody talks up the fans at Arrowhead Stadium -Ęthey're loyal, they're loud, yadda, yadda. But it's also the worst stadium in the league for the lethal repetition of high-decibel 80s "music" between every play. No wonder visiting teams hate to play here."

Okay, Mr. or Ms. "I live in Seattle, the center of the U.S. progressive music scene," you better pay closer attention.

While Bob Dole did not pay much attention to most of the music, the most repeated song during the 4th quarter defensive stands was Kid Rock's Bawitdaba, released August 18, 1998.

This is actually nothing new. Several Raiders players, especially Darrell Russell, were making fun of the music selection and the midwest in general as being "behind the times" after last year's game...

sd4chiefs 10-04-2000 03:05 PM

The music played in Arrowhead is pathetic...Quiet Riot? C'mon on now.

"quiet riot's pretty cool", said the 40year old man.

maybe its just the possibility that the majority of midwesterners think that "Rap is Crap"...just my oppinion....but I can't imagine what people would do if I played my music...

Denver's song...."your cheatin heart"
Raiders(Andre rison) "mama tried" or
"I fought the law and.."
seahawks "the eagle, waylon jennings
chargers...."theres a tear in my beer"

i can go on, but I don't want to blasphem these songs by putting them next to vile names. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif

I dislike the high beer prices more than the music...If beer was free, let them play opra.....well, maybe not

wutamess 10-04-2000 03:12 PM

How about Flight of the Valkries during kickoff.

The-Chief 10-04-2000 03:29 PM

Well , at least they didn't describe you as redundant for playing the same songs repeatedly...

Logical 10-04-2000 03:34 PM

I'll take Quiet Riot or the primal scream from The Who any day over that "Day-oh" crap Banana Boat song they play over and over at the Colts game.

Snapper 10-04-2000 03:37 PM

At least its not that Horn going off at the Metrodome for the Viks games.

Actually, during the 4th, Bob Dole was screaming every time they played something other than Bawitdaba. The defense would hold or move them back every time it was playing, then they'd switch songs and Seattle would progress.

Bob Dole thinks they should play Bawitdaba exclusively from now on.

I would love to hear Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi Prolog, from Carmina Burana. A song that is perfect for the impending doom of an ensuing battle. I can't think of anything that would be better. I've been looking for a full audio clip, but in the meantime this lil sample will have to do, unfortunately it cuts off just before the explosion which would be perfect for the kick off:

hmm...think i might go home and dig thru the kids cds looking for kid rock...i think they still have it. i remember them leaving it in the car w/the volume turned up to the max. i pulled it out and tried to break it when i saw the "finger" on it. couldn't break it so i tossed it out the window on the garage floor.

What, and my suggestion gets no props??? I think Flight of the Valkries would be hilarious... we could do the Bugs Bunny version... "Kill the wabbit, Kill the wabbit"

htismaqe 10-04-2000 03:42 PM

Bob Dole thinks they should play the relevant part of The Rodeo Song by Gary Lee and Showdown when the opposing kicker runs on the field for a FG attempt.

"Here comes Johnny with his p*cker in his hand, he's a one-ball man and he's off to the rodeo..."<P>

htismaqe 10-04-2000 03:43 PM

It's on "Devil Without a Cause," sec.
