Walter also had us taking RGIII at this point last season, IIRC.

We saw how that worked out.

There will be plenty of scouts that like this kid enough to push him into the top 5, IMO. There's no way we get him at 10.

And I've got no issue with us trading a bunch of picks to get him.

No way Geno falls to 10, even if the guys in front of us don't need a QB and wouldn't draft him, you know someone else would trade up to take the 2nd overall QB in the draft this year.

If the Saints pick that high, they will take a QB. Brees is going to be 34 in a few months. This would be just like the Packers taking Rodgers.

If we have to "settle" for Bray, I won't be too sad.

Look at the teams who will likely be picking in the top 10

Colts
Rams
Raiders
Dolphins
Browns

All those teams have QB's. Chiefs are in a good position can go 9-7 and still get a franchise guy.

Raiders wouldn't pass one up.

It's the Raiders

We need Arizona to win a few more games. They seemed to be competition for a top QB.

I think we saw what the trend is last season - with the new contracts structures, it's possible for the highly situated teams to trade down.

The #1 overall pick is going to be a quarterback, period. 2 of the top 3 picks are almost certainly going to be a quarterback. Teams are going to trade up to get these top guys, regardless of their initial position in the draft.

The Franchise 09-25-2012 02:55 PM

Here is our 2nd round pick.

Quote:

Corey Lemonier, DE/OLB, Auburn
The Chiefs don't have much depth behind Tamba Hali and Justin Houston - as they discovered in the Week 1 loss to Atlanta - so they could spend an early 2013 NFL Draft pick on a rush linebacker.

The Franchise 09-25-2012 02:56 PM

And our 3rd rounder.

Quote:

Sylvester Williams, DE/DT, North Carolina
Glenn Dorsey will be a free agent in March, so it appears as though his disappointing tenure in Kansas City is coming to an end.

Titty Meat 09-25-2012 02:56 PM

Palmer has 2 years left on his contract but it's 13 million and 15 million. That team has some holes if they are picking top 10 it would be a great position to trade down and add picks.

I would trade the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for a franchise QB. You can sign a 3-4 d-end for cheap.

whoman69 09-25-2012 02:58 PM

You also have to consider that some teams with a young QB and a high pick might give up their guy. Cleveland might give up on Weedon. Jacksonville might give up on Gabbart. Tampa could give up on Freeman. The way its set up now, if you have a team that's failing and an uncertain QB, there shouldn't be any reason to pass up on one. We also have to consider that not all the QBs mentioned will come out. How would last year's draft look with Barkely and Jones in the mix?

Yep, and the Redskins have set the market price.
